Business trip for 4 nights to this hotel. The hotel is very conveniently located, close to the downtown area of Asheville and to the numerous cafes, restaurants and activities. I had a "king" room: the bed was excellent (very comfortable, plenty of pillows) but the bathroom was cramped and, for this type of property, had a surprising "shower in the bathtub". My bath / shower diverter did not work very well so I was not able to get a really good stream of water from the shower head. Also, there did not seem to be a (working) fan. I was also disappointed that towels that I hung to be reused were taken each day. I liked the desk - it had plenty of power points to use and charge devices and a great workspace. The TV experience in the room was not more than average. It has about 40 channels but only a limited number are HD, again unusual at this price point. There is a small but really nice bar off the lobby and a great covered patio area. I did not eat at the hotel. The front desk staff were outstandingly polite and helpful.

We received great service from a knowledgeable staff. Our room was nicely appointed with plenty of space. Very clean and comfortable. We were within walking distance to many downtown asheville restaurants, bars and shops. We will definitely stay here again.

One night stay while traveling through town. The hotel is at the edge of the downtown area but it is definitely walkable. The rooms are nicely done. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would recommend this hotel.

Downtown Asheville is always busy and there is always something happening so staying in the heart of all the action was perfect for us. I used to live in Asheville and the Renaissance always had a good reputation. Everything was clean and comfortable and the staff helpful. Worked out perfectly for our stay!

Room Tip: Mountain view from the 9th floor was beautiful!

From the time we called until the time we left, this hotel delivered. A Cool, friendly feel. The lobby was effortlessly abuzz and exciting with business and wedding groups. We thank Zeb, at the front desk, for accommodating our single family this particular weekend. We also chose the Renaissance because of its excellent downtown location!

We frequent the Marriott Hotels and this was the best location to walk in the downtown area.
Our room was a corner room and was the average size with two double beds. The king bed rooms looked a bit roomier if you only need one bed. We had a minor cleaning issue that was handled quickly. If you are a Gold member of Marriott you get the breakfast up in the 12th Floor Club Room. It was nice with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, oatmeal and breads. The room has a nice view. The lobby was upscale trendy. We stayed at a B&B our visit prior and would go back to the B&B only because of the nice people you get to meet and enjoy talking to.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room if you need two double beds. Get a King bed if you don't need two beds be...

Perfect, perfect location! We were there on a Sunday, had a quiet room as requested, on the 6th floor, view of the Asheville hill tops. Beautiful hip lobby and restaurant/bar very appealing but we did not eat there so can't review.Wonderfully comfortable bed. I usually travel with my own pillow but did not need it here.great crisp linens. Room very clean, new carpets, new everything, great panel over desktop for all of your electronic/charger needs, sufficient lighting, mirrors, etc. Bathroom nicely remodeled and very clean, but older tiled tub/shower combo. Great hot water pressure, lots of good towels. bathroom would be small for very large or very tall people and will not be able to share, otherwise just fine in size. My only gripe was that it only had one hook for hanging a towel. I am a very light sleeper and was worried about the AC noise mentioned by other reviewers. Not as loud as mentioned and completely muffled with earplugs. Very professional friendly staff. Highly recommend for travel or business.
