The location of this hotel was perfect for what we needed. It was close to downtown, which is a must see if you are visiting the Asheville area. It is close to the McCormick Field, where the Asheville minor league baseball team plays.
The hotel stay was perfect! The room was clean and nice to stay in. The front desk staff was friendly but sometimes seemed irritated that they were being asked questions about the area. Liked that the parking was complimentary, especially when most downtown hotels charge a lot for parking. However, it was sometimes a far walk when carrying luggage from the room all the way to the back of the hotel parking lot. Overall, great stay and I would definitely consider staying here again!

This hotel was good. I think it could be better. I have only stayed in one other renaissance and that is the one in Orlando. And they are completely different! I like Orlando better. This one had smaller rooms and I mean much smaller! But the rooms are much nicer by the design. I felt kind of cramped in the rooms. We were on the 5th floor with a view of the Grove Park Inn. Get a room facing that or you will get a view of the back parking lot and the city. The lobby of this hotel was nice. Just a standard lobby, no atrium. At check-in I felt rushed! I requested a high floor and the man said no. Just a flat out no! That was the only bad staff member. At check-out the girl was very nice! The hotel was very clean! In the morning there was broken glass at the elevator on the 5th floor and it was cleaned just minutes after seeing it. Would I stay here again? Maybe. If you have any questions just ask!

The staff here were very very friendly. They seemed geniunely intersted in us having a good visit. The rooms were updated and very clean. The location is the key. Its right in the heart of downtown Asheville and everything is within walking distance. Would stay here again if/when I go back to Asheville. Room was quiet and bed was super comfortable.

Hotel was perfect. Rooms spacious, nice views, staff friendly and most helpful, and a great location. I'm here on business but will come again to Asheville and definitely stay at this hotel.

ok guys, most are the reviews of the hotel are spot on... the a/c units are noisy.. but it’s an older hotel and they have done a good job renovating but some things can't be changed.. like the box a/c units. we stayed for two nights while visiting the biltmore. it's an easy drive there and the place is centrally located in asheville. two complaints. one.. the concierge level spread in the afternoon is paltry. Once the food is gone, there is no effort to get it replenished. We walked in at 6.30 pm and all the cheese and fruit plates were empty. I asked for a refill and the attendant said it would be ordered but nothing ever showed up. I am a Marriott platinum member for life and have stayed at many marriott’s all over the world. This was by far the least attractive offering. Two, ok.. so you renovated the rooms but you left this old burned out magnifying mirror on the wall of the bathroom. Not only was the light not working, but it had burn holes in the middle of the glass. Check it out in room 1102. I also agree that the staff was very nice and courteous. Yes, I would stay here again when visiting Asheville.
