Description: What constitutes "New South Flavors?" For us, it is begins with reverence for those time-honored Southern dishes. Served up by wonderful home cooks for years. We respect the freshness, the flavors and the food itself. But we like to jazz it up a little, add something deliciously unexpected to delight your palate. Our interpretation of traditional Southern fare is creative, inventive and satisfyingly scrumptious. Cheers to New South Flavor!

“Super yummy breakfast!”
Reviewed March 22, 2014 via mobile

A little pricey but also great portions. Tucked away in a little strip mall. Great service. Amazing biscuits with blueberry jam. Highly recommend the sweet potato pancakes and the cheese grits. A very filling and yummy way to fill your tummy.

“Fabulous as always!”
Reviewed March 13, 2014

Food was wonderful as always. Gluten free daughter had tomato soup with grilled havarti and cheddar sandwich along with goat cheese grits. Other daughter had the shrimp and grits. I had the crab cakes with lumps of crabmeat in them, grilled asparagus and mac and cheese. All were perfect. The banana pudding is the best we have ever had. Service was good, but the guy at the front counter was a little grumpy. Maybe had had a bad day. Noisy, but you expect that in a place like this.

Dinner, two glasses of wine and a gin and tonic were $87 not including tip.

Will be back again (and again, and again)

BTW this location takes reservations. The one downtown does not.

“Good food, reasonably priced”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

Visited here with friends and had a lovely meal of Cajun catfish with salsa and goat cheese grits. Very tasty and a just-right size portion. Also had banana pudding for dessert, which was tasty, but a little airy (meaning it tasted more like whipped cream than pudding). Service was prompt and the price was not bad. My friends all liked their meals, too. Recommended.

“Overrated :(”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

My husband and I are food connoisseurs, so to speak, and always enjoy trying local dives when we're traveling. I saw this spot and a busy parking lot, so thought we'd try it. Food was absolutely mediocre, at best. Really disappointed. Save your money and go elsewhere. There are a ton of great restaurants in Asheville, this is just not worth the time or money.
