Description: What constitutes "New South Flavors?" For us, it is begins with reverence for those time-honored Southern dishes. Served up by wonderful home cooks for years. We respect the freshness, the flavors and the food itself. But we like to jazz it up a little, add something deliciously unexpected to delight your palate. Our interpretation of traditional Southern fare is creative, inventive and satisfyingly scrumptious. Cheers to New South Flavor!

“Good food, Good price”

Went here on a recommendation from a friend of mine, and I was very happy I listened. The fried green tomatoes were excellent. The biscuits were amazingly soft as well as salty. I ordered the jalapeno smoked pork which was very flavorful. The food was reasonably priced and the service was adequate. I left there full and happy, what else could I want? except a little more self control.

“Great food, quick and pleasant service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

We went there for dinner based on Yelp reviews. They rated it highly and after eating there I agree. Food was excellent, portions almost too big and service was excellent. My girlfriend is vegetarian and there was plenty on the menu for her. I had BBQ pulled pork dinner and it was excellent. Mint Iced Tea was also very good. Don't turn down the free before meal biscuit, We both thought it was delicious.

“Great food and outstanding service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

Make sure you visit this outstanding restaurant. They have two in the area and this one is bigger than the other with an outdoor area. The good is great with the right amount of seasoning. Our waiter was fantastic and attentive.

“Great food - horrible service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

While visiting the area for one day, this was at the top of the recommendations list, but we had a disappointing experience.
It was pouring rain when we ventured in and were told it was an hour wait. OK so we stood outside under a very leaky awning fro about 30 minutes, only to find out that there was an empty waiting area that seated about a dozen people. The hostess never mentioned it to any of the variety of groups, soaked, chilled waiting patiently people outside. Our server was prompt as we sat down, but after she brought water and ordered she didn't come back for about 35 minutes. All the tables around us had been seated, ordered and eating biscuits. So we asked. She was kind of snarky, remarked that the biscuits came after the appetizers, which we still did not have. It seemed every other table had their biscuits, appetizers, lunch entrees - in that order- and were leaving. We were ready to ask again, it had been an hour since we sat down. The manager finally brought our food, said sorry, she was very short with us, and that was it.
The food was very good, delicious! just would have been better if some of it hadn't been sitting around for such a long time.

“Southern cooking with a twist!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

My husband & I recently had lunch at this location of Honey Tupelo Café. (Located in South Asheville-also one downtown.) The first thing brought to your table after your drink order is a HUGE homemade biscuit, accompanied by blueberry preserves and honey. I ordered shrimp tacos with fried okra-really good ! My husband had chicken & dumplings soup with a grilled cheese sandwich. There are different soups to choose from, and a long list of daily fresh, local vegetables. Also, breakfast is served all day! Great food, atmosphere and wait staff! A MUST if in the Asheville area-open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can order a sandwich, a full meal, even a vegetable plate! Something to please all palates! We never go to Asheville without frequenting this restaurant!
