We have read a number of great reviews on this restaurant (here and other sites) and had to have dinner here.
Food: We tried a number of dishes and the food was wonderful. We started with the tomato and preserved watermelon salad, the shrimp and sauteed garlic (outstanding), the vermicelli with squid ink and seafood (excellent), eggplant with honey (outstanding). The only disappointing dish was the patatas bravas, the potatoes were perfectly cooked but the sauce bland. We finished with the exceptional crema catalana. Every dish was perfectly presented, freshly prepared and full of flavor and texture. About 3 dishes per person, shared of course, is about right for dinner, you do want to leave place for dessert.
Ambiance: The restaurant has a wonderful tapas atmosphere, fun, open and full of life, like many in Barcelona. The long bar is wonderful and we wished we had a seat there. This is just a fun restaurant to be in!
Service: Our waiter was very knowledgeable, made perfect suggestions and was always checking in. We were never left wanting for anything.
Overall, a wonderful place to dine, the food is good, the atmosphere un and the overall experience very good. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Visiting Asheville, NC and thought we'd try this highly rated restaurant for lunch. We ordered and shared 6 small plates and we all loved the food. We followed our meals with hot coffee bevs and 1 hot dark chocolate. A yummy treat and I especially loved the menu which indicated all types of dishes that are GF, NF, V, etc. Will definitely go back on a future visit.

My husband and I ate here in our first visit to Asheville this week, and it was the first time either if us had been to a tapas bar. The food was delicious.
We spent a few hours walking around town window shopping and exploring before we settled on the restaurant and were happy to find something other than the typical farmhouse American cuisine seen at most of the other restaurants. Each dish had unique Spanish flavored and were cooked perfectly.
The only downside to the restaurant would be the price, as we had to order five or six tapas to fill the two of us averaging about $10 a dish, plus drinks on top of that. If you are prepared for the final bill, though the restaurant is definitely worth it, and one that I would recommend.

Several people recommended Curate. We sat at the bar and ate and ate. The menu is unusual tapas. Everyone is so damn friendly in Asheville. The bartender, the other customers, all fun and chatty.

This place rocks! Insanely well thought out, unique, small dishes prepared with absolute mastery. Cuisine is Spanish inspired given the owners interesting background. Sit at the bar to watch the kitchen.....an exquisite well-tuned machine. Another unique gem in the ever-expanding Asheville Dining Crown!
