It is worth the wait. Make the reservation and then slowly sample all you can from the tapas menu. Few restaurants live up to their hype but this one does. If it is cold, ask for a table in the back, away from the door. If you forgot a reservation, get on the waiting list and go have a drink at Table. They will text you when one of the five small tables or seats at the bar open up. On a Friday night, we only waiting 45 minutes.

“Authentic Spanish food in Asheville!”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

Really great, very authentic Spanish in quaint Asheville. Lunch was fantastic. Would have gone for dinner but was all booked up.
Having been to tapas land in northern Spain we are familiar with the food. This truly steps to the plate and delivers the real thing. The octopus was phenomenal; fresh, seasoned perfectly with lovely presentation. Servers were all so friendly and nice and all help each other. We like when servers at restaurants look out for all customers and not just 'their own'; Curate's does.

“Excellent tapas in Ashville”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

We dined her for lunch. Every item we had was very good, especially the calamari sandwich and the brandade. The service was outstanding as well. It's a casual atmosphere for an excellent dining experience.

“Yes.”
Reviewed December 2, 2013 via mobile

The food was fantastic, our server was passionate and knowledgable about the food she served, and the open kitchen surprisingly worked! I've been a professional cook for years and was happy to finally be surprised by a restaurant. Loved the clams and the lardo!!!

“delicious overpriced food, kinetic energy from the cooks”
Reviewed November 30, 2013

Curaté is authentic as any other exported experience. The food comes across as traditional, but catering to a crowd that thinks Spanish food is spicy makes that easy. The ill informed clientele make their success simple.

I've eaten at Jaelo in D.C. and if I wanted to again I would go there. Curaté is simply a remake of an exported Spanish concept remade in N.C. from D.C.

If you go it will be fun, expensive, but also memorable (especially when the check comes). The energy in the space is kinetic, but the cooks need more credit than they get. The equivalent of Spanish fast food at top quality must take a toll on them.

Tip the cooks as well as your server (yes you can do that!). They're the ones who deserve more credit here.
