“Great meal, reasonably priced”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

My 13yo son as just coming off a week-long sports camp and we stayed in Ashville to break up the driving. I think he was disappointed that he couldn't order a big steak, but there was quite a bit to choose from. I don't recall how many plates we ordered, but we were stuffed. Particularly good tapas were the jambon selection (3 different Spanish hams), the octopus, bread with tomato spread, and the lamb kabob. The potatoes were fine, but not special, and I regretted eating them as there was so much else to try, but I got too full. Probably not a great choice for young kids, unless they are adventurous eaters. I also loved the Manhattan with a "liquid" cherry. It was just great!

“Vibrant restaurant scene”
Reviewed June 30, 2013 via mobile

I made reservations at Curate based on reviews on TripAdvisor and it did not disappoint. The restaurant's atmosphere was very energetic and very busy. It is a bit small but very well appointed. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing and offered help when ordering. We decided on five dishes of tapas that have much more refined named than I can remember (garlic shrimp, chicken fritters, sautéed spinach, tomatoes and bread and potatoes in a brava sauce). The food did not disappoint, it was simple and tasted fresh. The small plates were not too small especially the potatoes. Really enjoyed our evening at the restaurant. Also, it is on Biltmore Ave a very trendy street with lots of other restaurants, shops and bars.

“Wonderful culinary experience.”

This was our second visit to the best restaurant in Asheville. We were quite pleased again. We love to eat at the bar area and watch all of the food preparation. It's a busy place to say the least. Everyone is full of energy and exhibit a precision that only comes from having a professional background in fine dining. The tapas options are across the board and offer exquisitely prepared creative tasteful mouthfuls. It is one of my favorite all time place to eat.

“Great dining experience”

We had lunch at Curate. Our server told us that we should order 3-4 items each. We followed her advice, but halfway through we wished we had limited our selections to 2 items each. We sampled alot of great food though, and that was fun.

“Great food and experience”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

The reviews for this restaurant are numerous, 5 stars and well deserved. I just want to emphasize that if there are just 2 of you then eat at the bar. If you have traveled in Spain and enjoyed the activity of sitting at a tapas bar then you will feel that you are experiencing it again. We frequently travel to Asheville and will definitely put Curate on our must- do list. Also definitely would do the bar which we were told could be reserved seating as well. (Btw, we had the last 2 seats at the bar in front of the bartender. I wish I knew her name but she was attentive to our food selections and added to our enjoyable evening.)
