Amazing but very busy. Obviously the locals know just how good it is. The food was hot and tasty and the mimosa hit the spot. The wait staff were attentive and familiar with the menu, giving useful suggestions. In the summer, I would suggest sitting inside due to the heat. Definitely a return trip.

We stopped here for lunch on our way from the airport. The staff are super friendly and the menu has many delicious choices. We each ordered something different and shared so we could try many options. Save room for dessert. We shared a triple layer chocolate cake that was to die for.

Delicious! Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals, the service was good, even the wait was pleasant with plenty of shade and a cool breeze. All of the food was very tasty and fresh, and my meal in particular - the Biscuits and Gravy - were out of this world.

Expect to wait a while for a table indoors or (better) outside. The waiting area is a pleasant outdoor space, and the wait is worth it. Casual but attentive service, great coffee repeatedly refilled, and a range of hearty and tasty menu items. Be warned that daily specials may be gone by the time you sit down because some of them are very popular and in limited supply. Not to worry, there are plenty of alternatives. The comparison to Early Girl, made by another reviewer, is apt. That's another great place, in our view not replaced but supplemented by Sunny Point Café. Early Girl's trout and their generosity with locally made jams are hardly matched here or anywhere. But it is great to be able to choose between two such pleasant places for a positively memorable breakfast or brunch.

My husband and I are big fans of Early Girl in downtown Asheville and always stop for brunch there when in town. However, I read a review of Sunny Point somewhere and we decided to try something new. No disrespect to Early Girl, which we still like very much, but Sunny Point is our new favorite. The food was excellent. It is small and there was quite a wait (50 min) but we were prepared and had coffee, so the wait was painless.
We had a couple of different specials, but the regular menu looked fabulous as well.
As I said, this is our new fav!
