“Great Breakfast!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2011

We searched around for a good breakfast place and this seemed to have the best reviews. So we tried it out on a Sunday morning. It was a bit crowded but the wait wasnt too long. My wife got the shrimp and grits and it was fantastic!!! Come with bacon and tomatos mixed in with a bit of a kick. MMMMmmm! I got the stuffed french toast. It was stuffed with cream cheese and sausage. I thought it was just ok. Tasted a bit like biscuits and gravy to me. The dish came with a ton of fruit on the site, which all tasted fresh and delicious! We also tried the friend green tomatos. They were pretty good. I would recommend this place for breakfast during your stay. Its in west asheville and has some great people watching as well.

“MUST Eat Here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2010

On our last trip to Asheville, we changed our plans just to eat breakfast at Sunny Pointe because it was SO HIGHLY recommended by the locals. We were not disappointed. I would definitely recommend the pimento cheese. It was without a doubt the best I've ever had. The veggie burger was good too but I would return for the pimento cheese alone! Our waitress was awesome and the other wait-staff we interacted with were great. The place was PACKED at 10 AM on a Thursday (early December) which we thought was interesting during the work week. We will be returning on our next trip to A-ville and have told friends and family they all have to eat bfast here on their next trip.

“Funky and fabulous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2010

Sunny Point is a neighborhood restaurant in West Asheville, which is the slightly funky, off-beat area of the city. This charming, small restaurant never disappoints. One of its main attractions is interesting and unique dishes -- they just have a spin to things that is unlike most, pushing the envelope whenever they can. Their use of spices and sauces is particularly invigorating. Sunny Point uses the freshest ingredients, always offers vegetarian alternatives (like tofu bacon), and makes their entire menu (breakfast, lunch and dinner) available during the dinner hour, so you can eat light or have your early day favorites for dinner. Everything is reasonably priced, too. The owner even shares her secrets in her new cookbook.

Sunny Point is always busy, especially for Sunday brunch, so pick an early hour to go. Gotta love this place!

“Wonderful breakfast--even at lunchtime”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2010

This restaurant specializes in creative breakfast food, which are available throughout the day. We had the wonderful huevos rancheros and a special egg-on-polenta-with-ratatouille, which was fabulous. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant. We've eaten there on our two trips to Asheville, about a year apart, and had a wonderful meal both times.

“Menu reads far better than the food tastes”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2010

I read the menu and could not decide. It all sounded fantastic. Our party of 4 was generally underwhelmed. Was fairly boring to just wrong. The preserves on the chicken sandwich was not a good idea. My breakfast sandwich may have been good, but it was prepared to be mostly egg.
