Located next to a health food supermarket in a strip mall, this is a place to try Salvadorian food. Not mexican, though they offer some mexican items, we went for the Salvadorian skirt steak. Really tasty and tender. Portion was large and the plate was filled with beans, rice and sweet plantains. Garnished with avocado and some fresh salsa. A bargain for $10. The margarita special on Thursdays was not great but only $1.99. The flan was very dense - not delicate but certainly a traditional ending to a good meal. Service was very good, but the place was pretty quiet as we went fairly late.

I went to Tomato for lunch today expecting some good Cuban food. I chose the buffet. The foods had little, if any, seasoning at all. The only thing that actually tasted good were the fried plantains. I think the black beans came straight out of a can. Service was poor, too. We had to call a waiter over to refill our drinks. Don't waste your money here.

We love Tomato's! It is one of our favorite restaurants in Asheville. The food is consistently delicious & the servers are always very friendly & make sure we have everything we need. One of my favorites is the Paella! Super delicious! We will keep coming back!
