“Nice Hotel but....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2014

The hotel is nice and the rooms look like the pictures they have posted. Service was great! But there are a few things I did not like. There was no fridge to put leftovers in. We spent a lot of money on food going out but had to leave unfinished food on the table. They are pet friendly but had an extremely small area to take our dog out to relieve himself. And they spent a good portion of they day watering it. Its also on a very busy road god forbid your dog gets loose. And a real coffee pot would have been nice. Loved the shower in the room!!!!!!!! Again the people who worked there were great!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Higher up and on the mountain side.

This has to be by far one of the worst Hotels we have ever stayed at and we travel quite a bit! Yes the rooms were clean but other than that would have rather stayed at a La Quinta or quality Inn for half the price and twice the amenities! First, the stated price was $465 but discounted to $169 (still extremely expensive for what you get. We stayed on the 7th floor and overlooked the back side of a dirty AT&T building with construction work going on. When we asked to be moved to the other side of the building we were turned down. We were told because we booked with Travelocity, that we weren't able to be accommodated because of our small pet that they charged us an extra $50 for having when they claim to be a pet friendly hotel. Again, even Hilton or the Marriott ever charge that kind of fee for a pet.

Want coffee or breakfast, they charge for it! Want a candy bar from a candy bar machine, forget it, no vending machines. Want a mini fridge in you room to keep water bottles cold, forget it, they have gone green as in $$$$.

Terrible experience and would never recommend!

Room Tip: Be advised that the rooms are plain, nothing special to note about the beds and if you don't boo...

We have been traveling to Asheville on a regular basis since 1985 and always stay at the historic Asheville icon (not naming names). We decided to stay in the downtown area and chose Hotel Indigo based on trip advisor reviews and photos. There were actually several negative reviews, but honestly (!), I think those people must have been out of their minds. Our awesome room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The view was great. Bearing in mind that this hotel is a downtown location, one would expect to see other buildings and parking lots, however, the mountain view was lovely. The hotel is very close to the interstate highway, so distant road sounds are completely possible, but we never heard anything disrupting. The staff of Hotel Indigo was absolutely terrific - welcoming us warmly and every time upon return. We found the café really nice and the staff there matched every other staff member we encountered. All-in-all, this was a wonderful weekend and we are already looking forward to returning.

Room Tip: Loved the corner room. I would suggest you request.

Green Features: Impressed with the Hotel Indigo's environmentally friendly efforts with motion censored lighting in the hallways.

Wanted to give this place 5 stars as my stay here was awesome, but held off 1/2 a star because the service at breakfast was really slow.

Rooms - big rooms, tiled/wood floors, big bathrooms, walk-in shower, good AC, clean, big window, etc. My only complaint here was that the pillows were a little soft and I had to stack two for any support.

Hotel - modern, great staff, incredible location. One of my favorite things was that the odd floors had water machines that you could fill a bottle in. It sounds silly, but having cold filtered water every morning or night was AWESOME

My biggest complaint, and why this place is 4.5 and not a 5, is that the restaurant service is a little slow. The barrista was quick with my coffee, but the yogurt and granola (while tasty) took forever to come out. Does it really take that much time to spoon some yogurt and granola in a bowl?

Despite breakfast, this hotel is in a wonderful location, with a great front desk staff, and really nice amenities. I'm a Hilton Honors member but will stay at the Indigo from now on in Asheville.

Room Tip: Ask for a view - some rooms are much better than others.

We found the Indigo staff very professional, and the rooms clean, but perhaps Indigo's strongest asset is its very convenient location to downtown Asheville restaurants like Early Girl, Tupelo Honey, Curate and Rhubarb - all within comfortable walking distance; as well as the art galleries and shops that make downtown Asheville such a fun destination.

I would recommend the 9th floor away from the highway for quiet. Our room was very clean with wooden floors which is nice;Room 905 (I still can't figure out what the photo on the "green" wall was supposed to be. It looks like broccoli but I doubt if the designer had that in mind. Moss perhaps? :) The rooms and hotel have a modern and "green" atmosphere which is cool. The rooms are not overly spacious but ok. The hotel is backed up to a highway but somehow, it works. The staff were all very pleasant and Kathleen, the concierge, was sooooo kind to us as we asked a lot of questions. Also, our car valet, Jose, was a very pleasant guy. By the way, the hotel charges $15.00 nightly parking which I was unaware of...oops! I did not think the location was ideal, but it is not a long walk at all to and from the hotel when enjoying the downtown area.

Room Tip: Choose room on 9th floor away from highway.

Do you want to experience Asheville, North Carolina? Well, I suggest you treat yourself to staying at The Hotel Indigo, downtown Asheville. As soon as you pull into the Driveway, the Valet Staff makes you feel as though you are arriving at a hotel in a big city. They are the first welcoming face, among many, that you will see here at the Indigo, during your stay.

walk into the cozy Lobby and as you register, you will immediately feel pampered. Check in with the Concierge, and your questions will be answered by an experienced staff member.

Depending on your budget, there are many styles of rooms that you can enjoy They vary from smaller, wonderfully creatively decorated rooms, all the way up to the Suites on the top floors.

I stay at The Indigo for many reasons.........the location, the cleanliness and, especially, because of the Staff. The make me feel as they are really happy to see me and make me feel welcome!
