When we first arrived we didn't feel very welcome. The front desk agent was not helpful and we were disappointed with the service. BUT then we met Terri the night front desk agent who was so helpful and friendly! She gave us wonderful service and really made us feel at home. The rooms are very comfortable and great design throughout the hotel. For the price we would have really appreciated a fridge in the room. It could be something small that they add to make things easier. All in all, great hotel and good location to enjoy all the Asheville sites.

Thanks again to Terri for being so sweet to us during our stay!

Have stayed at the Indigo several times since they opened -- about 8-10 trips a year, including during Bele Chere. Good hotel and location. However, their rates have become prohibitive, particularly on the weekends. Even with AAA, a single night is around $230 or more on the weekends. At that rate, it's cheaper at the Renaissance, the Four Points/Sheraton or the Haywood Park down the street. If we see a discount or can take advantage of a Rewards night, we'll be back. But otherwise, I'd rather spend that money at one of the great local restaurants (many excellent ones to choose from) or on downtown shopping.

We booked a room in Asheville at the Hotel Indigo after seeing several good reviews online. It was easy to find, and a great location—within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do in the city. Our room on the eighth floor was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated (upscale/hip), with an excellent bathroom and shower. We had a great view and could see the Grove Park Inn on the hill a few miles away, which we visited during our stay. We had free onsite indoor parking, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating—even going so far as to find a storage room for me on the ground floor to keep my road bike during our stay. We didn't eat at the hotel, but noticed the nice bar and food counter in the lobby. It's an older building that has been completely re-done in a sort of hip, trendy fashion. Everything was great. It was a nicer hotel than we usually book for a short term, and we enjoyed everything about it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review about your stay with us! We will make sure to pass on the superb commentary about our staff and the excellent level of service you received at our property. I would like to clarify something about our hotel- we are a new build! We opened Nov.2009. The former building that was in this spot was the former Chamber of Commerce, which was removed (all remnants of the previous building went to recycling facilities) when our company built the Hotel Indigo. We are extremely proud of the zero lot line design, minimal impact to the environment and the use of nature materials, all from this beautiful region.
We look forward to having you visit with us again!
Warm regards-

My wife and I wanted a quick Asheville getaway, and the Hotel Indigo was just about perfect. The location is within a very easy walking distance of the Grove Arcade and the rest of downtown and the staff attentive and the room was clean, quiet and had a great view. The decor was not to my liking, but it certainly was different. I would certainly recommend this hotel to a friend and would stay there again.

We stayed at three hotels in Asheville this month during a pleasure vacation--the Hilton Asheville Biltmore Park (rated#6), the Hotel Indigo (rated #7) and the Haywood Park (rated #25). We found the ratings to be in correct order, and indeed the first two listed are very close to equal. The Hotel Indigo is located right in downtown Asheville just off the Interstate highway. Downtown is vary interesting, and a bit perplexing with some one-way streets that curve and confuse. We found several great restaurants downtown, as well as a number of bohemian shops. "Dinner and a movie" theaters were a new surprise for us, and Asheville has three of these. The Indigo is a fun splash of color, designed in a Swedish style. Rooms are average size and have recently been remodeled to continue the delightful splashes of color that begin at the front door of this hotel. A few items were missing from our room, like the mini-fridge, and the room was a little less than perfectly clean. Otherwise I accept the rating for this hotel as about right--a fun, colorful experience in the heart of Asheville.

We chose this hotel because of the location, but also because of the value. Yes, there are some hotels as close that are cheaper, but we felt like the value for the Hotel Indigo outweighed the one block closer we would be. Rooms were very clean and nice. The bed was a little too firm for my taste and it was annoying not to have a fan or some other sound buffer for the bathroom. Very cool coffee maker.

The hotel is just a couple blocks from the many shops on Haywood Street. Every night we walked to restaurants, bars, and breweries to get some of the local flavor. We also took the urban trail through downtown to get us more acclimated to the area. It was a short drive to the Biltmore and Grove Park Inn, where we went to catch the amazing views at sunset one night. All in all a great pick in Asheville.

Excellent location in downtown Asheville. This was my second stay at this hotel and I've slept very well both times as the bed is VERY comfortable. I will admit that I've never been in a room on the highway side of the hotel, only on the side facing downtown, so noise has never been an issue. The rooms are decorated in a very cool way -- as you'd expect from a Hotel Indigo. The bathrooms are sparkling clean and have a huge shower. I wouldn't say the staff is excellent, but I've come to expect a bit of a lackadaisical attitude from hotel clerks in Asheville -- at least they great you at the Indigo and don't act lack they hate their jobs (which is the attitude I've been met with at most of the other hotels I've stayed at in the area).

This is definitely my hotel of choice when staying in Asheville. I'll be back!
