I go hiking here frequently and have an annual pass for the parking. I also go several times a year to do flower photography. It's always a rewarding trip.

This is one of our favorite destinations in the N.C. mountains - we go at least once a year. The very large property is meticulously maintained. There are many different types of displays - gardens, trees, sculptures, art gallery, Bonsai - don't miss it. Great value too - they charge by the car, not per person - so bring your crew.

We go fairly regularly, to see the changes of the seasons. Even in winter there is much to see. In May there are lots of things blooming. The labels on the plants help me understand what I'm seeing, and have resulted in a number of purchases for our garden at home. The gift shop is fun, too. The cafe includes gluten free, a pleasant surprise.

The arboretum has multiple acres which consists of formal gardens and hiking trails. There is an education center and gift shop, as well as a great little cafe. You can explore at your leisure. It is only $12 per car for the parking fee, and much less crowded than the Biltmore gardens. Frederick Law Olmsted designed most of the gardens. Highly recommend if you love gardens and nature.

We absolutely love visiting here any chance we get. It is so relaxing to walk all over the grounds, whether to tour a special exhibit, or walk and play with our dog, but my parents tribute tree in the beautiful "Memorial Garden" is a staple for us! They have a restaurant on property, a permanent bonsai display and plenty of hiking trails sprawled out over their 400+ acres! If you're into nature the least little bit, you will want to plan a visit!
