We came on our weekend in Asheville for valentines day and even in the cold temperatures and snowy weather it was breathtaking. We cannot wait to come back and explore it in the fall.

The setting is beautiful. Just a perfect place to see and appreciate the beauty of western North Carolina. It is also a great place to learn about nature both flora and fauna. We had my dad with us and he uses a cane so he needed a wheel chair to get around which we were able to borrow from the Arboretum. Very friendly and helpful folks with great exhibits which would be a fun learning experience for children.

Great place if into green things and hiking. Best little bitty teeny tiny bonsai collection in the Southeast! Note that with the state cutbacks they have to charge for parking now....so take the whole family and friends. No dogs, please.

There are fountains, gardens, a bonsai exhibit, and miles of trails -- if you want to enjoy the outdoors in Asheville (but don't want any strenuous hiking), this is the place to go.
