The Arboretum is an exceptional destination for natural beauty, hiking and biking trails, wonderful small artistic and horticultural exhibits, exceptional gift items, and surprisingly good food at the small cafe. Especially lovely during the spring when the national azalea repository is in bloom. Don't miss the bonsai exhibit, and catch one of the many spring flower shows for a real treat. Even nice in the off-season!

Truly worth a visit while in Asheville. Most larger cities don't have an arboretum of this caliber.

We went for a hike with our dog the week after Christmas, so it was a litte barren, but peaceful. I'm sure it's much prettier in the summer when there are leaves on the trees and everything's in bloom. We did get a brief look at the gardens, which are really nice.

Went for the first time in Oct. Grounds are very nice. Please note, the first Tuesday of the month is free. Worth going any time as the price for admission is by the car, not the person, but first Tuesdays have been free (check to make sure they are still doing this). Will be going back, for sure!

We go to this excellent Arboretum several times a year. It's absolutely beautiful and has some changing exhibits & shows. It also had good hikes. If anyone has an extra afternoon, this is a great place to visit anytime of the year.
