We liked the atmosphere and service. The food was good, not great, very limited breakfast menu. Especially considering it was Easter. A tad pricey for the portion.

Friends took us to the Red Stag for Easter Brunch. We had a very good, but not great, experience. The bar tender was slow or overworked -- our first course came before our drink order. We noticed another table had the same problem. Otherwise the wait staff were all great.

The carrot soup was outstanding. The ultimate eggs benedict very good, but could have been hotter. Others enjoyed the wedge salad and prime rib.

The service is excellent, the food is good, but it is a bit expensive compared to other choices in Asheville.

It was our first time to Asheville, and we were looking for a great place to have a nice meal. My husband and I decided to dine at the Red Stag Grill in the Grand Bohemian Hotel.

From the time that they bring you the menu, you realize that you are in for a great and unique experience. You open the menu, and instead of having to get out your phone to shine light upon the menu to see what is offered, their menu literally has LED lighting under it. What a nice surprise.

We ordered ginger/carrot soup. So tasty and scrumptious, that you want to have it just for dinner. We decided to venture on, and have the trout. OMG, this fish was so perfectly prepared, so light with just the right amount of seasoning. We savored each bite. The dessert was probably the one area of the meal that was not overly ambitious, but still pleasant.

This is a restaurant that I would go to again, and again. It is not your typical hotel restaurant. It is one that stands on its own merit as fine dining.

We took our daughter and son-in-law for dinner at the Red Stag in the Grand Bohemian Hotel to celebrate their 10th anniversary and were seated immediately even though we'd come without reservations. The food was very good (my son-in-law said his bison rib eye was the best rib eye he'd ever eaten); the waiter was pleasant, attentive, and helpful. In fact, when he overheard us talking about the anniversary he returned with complimentary champagne to add to the festive occasion. We usually don't order dessert in a restaurant, but we were having such a nice time and the meal had been so good that we all ordered dessert which was equally excellent (and there was a candle on the one our daughter and son-in-law shared). This probably isn't a restaurant for young children, although there was a family seated nearby with young ones who were very well behaved. I would recommend the Red Stag to those wanting a place to celebrate a special event. Let me add that we really appreciated the lighted menus! How many times have we sat in dimly lighted dining rooms peering at menus in the near dark trying to make out the words?
