Description: Chef & owner Brian Canipelli opened Cucina 24 in 2008 on Wall Street in the center of downtown Asheville, NC. Our kitchen is focused on melding the traditions and philosophies of Italian cookery with ingredients found in the mountains of the American South. We work closely with a number of area farms and our menus reflect produce that they bring to us.

My wife and I have been coming here for a couple of years, and dining at Cucina 24 has consistently brought us considerable gustatory delight. From the handcrafted cocktails to the ever evolving menu, we have always had meals that we thoroughly enjoyed. Also, the atmosphere offers one of the quieter, more intimate places to dine in Asheville.

The wait staff deserve some accolades as well because they are consistently attentive and professional in a town that, while known for the quality of its food, sometimes struggles to deliver uniform service.

Our most recent visit a few nights ago was no exception in the quality that we have come to expect. Everything we had was delicious.

We had wanted to try here a year ago on our first visit to Asheville but time (and the huge choice in Asheville) meant we had to wait for a second trip. The wait was worth it.
The restaurant is a pleasant modern space with an impressive bar and comfortable layout with a relaxed but quite upscale feel.
We were greeted immediately and pleasantly and seated near the open kitchen which added to the interest and atmosphere.
Our server was very friendly and helpful in describing the good choice of beers available as well as advising on wines. We had starters of scallops and also a dish of spring greens both of which were tasty. My wife had a delightful pasta main while I opted for a whole sunburst trout which was perfectly cooked and delicious.
We enjoyed the food so much we decided to be tempted by desserts. Both were delicious but it is worth mentioning that I asked if they could do me a vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce which was not a sole choice offered on the menu and they met my wish, presenting wonderful gelato housed in brandy baskets topped with chocolate sauce and fresh mint leaf garnish
While not particularly cheap, this is a good restaurant, ideal if you like your night out without crayons and colouring books, with great food, friendly efficient service and nice atmosphere.

Had another great meal with good service and good wine. Would go there again and try their tasting menu with wine pairing.

I went to Asheville for the first time. I was not sure where to go to dinner but I wanted to go to a nice place for a date night. I decided on Cucina 24 after reading some of the other reviews. The expectations were greatly exceeded!! Not only did they have us ready for the reservations; they gave us a really nice table. The environment was romantic and the service was absolutely quick, accommodating and professional. The food was very tasty and filling. We will defintely be back next time we are in Asheville!

We have eaten at many places in the USA recently on our month long trip and this stood out as one of the best. Reasonably sized portions, beautifully presented, proper Italian food with no added sugar, salt, cheese, etc etc. Service was outstanding. We had three courses, sharing a starter and a main, then choosing a dessert each. All of it was gorgeous. Highly recommend this restaurant.
