Made last minute reservations based on tripadvisor reviews and was very pleased with our experience. The hotel is a bit tricky to find if you've never been to the area and are arriving at night - our GPS placed us across the street. The hotel is terrific - the rooms large - the breakfast very good. The location across from the Biltmore is very convenient - a number of restaurants a short distance away. Depending on the room location, there can be a bit of traffic noise. We will definitely be back.

For as beautiful as the hotel is and the rooms being so spacious, the service was horrible. The valet took a extended amount of time, the hotel was less than friendly or helpful after I started having credit card issues that weren't of my control and I have had to call three times and leave messages for housekeeping to ask them to mail something back to me that I left in my room. As of right now, they still have not returned my phone call.

We chose the Grand Bohemian, based on past experiences with other Kessler properties. As expected, the Asheville location did not disappoint. The location is great, especially for visiting the Biltmore Estate, as it is across the street from the entrance. If you're looking to spend time in downtown, it is a few miles away, and we found a cab to run about $10 one way. The hotel boasts a hunting lodge theme throughout, which was a perfect fit for our winter vacation, especially given the amount of snow that fell during our stay. The lobby, while a bit small, has a gorgeous fireplace in the center, which was great for sitting around and playing cards. We decided to upgrade to a one bedroom suite at check in, and this decision proved to be well worth the extra money, as the extra space and jacuzzi tub were a big plus.

Overall if we return to Asheville, we will certainly return to the Grand Bohemian.

Good experience but they need to solve the hot water problem. Warm water is the best you can get, any time of day. Otherwise, rooms are beautiful as is the hotel.

This hotel is quirky and cool. The service was impeccable and beautifully professional. The room was by far the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in. There was NOTHING that was less than perfect! We ordered room service:
Fried green tomatoes with goat cheese
Crab Cakes
Garlic Shrimp
Grilled Asparagus
Mascarpone Cheese Cake
Preserved Blueberries with Vanilla Ice Cream
So amazingly delicious!!
If you're going to Asheville, NC stay here...it's memorable!!!!

This hotel offered everything that we needed for a quick getaway and then some! Red Stag is an excellent restaurant. Next time I am going to try the spa. Location is excellent for walking around Biltmore Village and quick access to the Biltmore Estate.

My husband and I travel frequently for both business and leisure. It was our first trip to Asheville and based on the reviews I had read, thought this Mariott was a good choice for the price. There aren't many mid-range hotels in Asheville, so it seemed like a good option. Our first impression of the hotel was with the Valet staff, who were excellent throughout our 3-day stay. Unfortunately, our experience with this property went downhill from there...

The reception area is dark - very little natural light - with excessive, cheap "hunting lodge" decor everywhere - and I DO mean everywhere. It's oppressive. The check-in was extremely slow (as was the check-out) with a clearly inexperienced staff.

We had a deluxe king room on the 3rd floor. As soon as we got off the elevator and headed down the dark, low-ceilinged hallway, I started to get a bad feeling. We opened the door to our room and found a musty-smelling, reasonably large dark space with a single, dirty, tiny window looking out on the Starbucks acrosss the street. It was just a totally charmless, unappealing room. And this is in the Main Hotel, not the Annex across the street, which is from what we've read, considerably worse...

The bathroom, though, was large and comfortable, with a bathtub and separate shower. It had a make-up mirror and robes. So, aside from a shower drain that didn't drain - it was fine.

All-in-all, we just can't recommend this hotel, although we do realize both the Grove Park Inn and the Biltmore Inn will cost considerably more. Perhaps the Marriott downtown might be an alternative...
