We were married on July 4th and we always plan a trip for our anniversary. This year we planned a trip to Asheville and stayed at the Grand Bohemian Hotel. It was wonderful!!! We did not expect to find such a "grand" hotel like this when we arrived. The service was very professional and the room was beautiful. We enjoyed the music playing every time we came into our room plus the wine. The hotel was designed to give you the lodge type feeling. The art throughout the hotel was absolutely wonderful. The food at the Red Stag Restaurant was outstanding. We were actually amazed at how well the designers were able to put a hotel on this property like they did. We were there several years ago and could not imagine how it was going to look. I must say "well done". Yes there was noise, but when you book a hotel in the middle of the city you expect noise. The one thing I did not like was they allowed pets, but they do have designated rooms for people who book with pets. I don't book rooms that allow pet because of health issues. The price was a little more than we usually pay but it was worth it and we are planning a trip back soon.

Room Tip: If you don't what a room that a pet has been in be sure to ask for a room that is no pets allowe...

Happy Anniversary! We are thrilled you decided to celebrate your special occasion with us at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville. I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed the professional service from our staff. We pride ourselves on delivering memorable service. It sounds like you enjoyed the guest room and many of the amenities that we have to offer. We do designate rooms for guests who book with pets and we perform a special deep cleaning once they depart. We hope to have another opportunity to serve you in the future should your travels lead you back to the Asheville area. Thanks for sharing your positive feedback.

I took my wife here overnight for her birthday. The lounge and lobby are amazing. We drank but did not eat for we had dinner reservations across the street at Ruth's Chris. The rooms are way over priced. We paid almost $400.00 for a low mid $200 room. There was a small chandler above the bed that you could not dim. My wife unintentionally looked behind the desk in our room and saw nothing but filth. A drape for a bathroom door? and there was not a handle on the inside of the water closet door or the shower door so you could not get them completely closed. Poor design. The shower was considerably small.
I have stayed at many a nice hotel world wide. This was the first time I felt ripped off. Stay at a local BnB.....

Thank you for celebrating your wife’s birthday at the Grand Bohemian Hotel. We appreciate the nice comments about our lobby and lounge. The hotel interior design is truly spectacular and unique. I am very sorry that you were disappointed with your guest room experience and our hotel bathrooms were not what you expected. The room rates do fluctuate with Asheville demand and Western North Carolina seasonality so please check back on future Asheville visits. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

Kind regards,
John Luckett

We stayed here 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Close to great restaurants and shopping! Be sure to eat at The Corner Kitchen.
The busts of Samuel L Jackson, Kenny Rogers, Barry Gibb, and famous horses Mr. Ed and Secretariet were a wonderful added bonus. Great art!

We booked this hotel thru Marriott.com thinking it would be a "Marriott", it's not, it's better! Unique decor gives you the lodge feel, a comfortable lobby with seating around the fireplace. The hotel is centrally located in the Biltmore Village, walking distance to shopping, art galleries and dining. We stayed in the Annex, our room was comfortable, the bathroom was huge with a great sower and large soaking tub. The only negatives...wish there was a chair to sit in to watch TV or read instead of sitting on the bed and the lighting was to low in the bathroom to apply makeup. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.

we stayed in the manor house across the street from the main hotel. the room was nice but a bit dark. that bathroom was just weird with heavy drapery instead of a bathroom door. sometimes designers just don't "get it" so to speak. at least there were glass doors on the shower and toilet area.(privacy is always nice in a small hotel room) but if you needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night opening those drapes totally woke up my husband. there is a real need for better bathroom lighting on dimmers and regular bathroom doors. we never had a full nights sleep, all 5 nights due to the TRAIN and noisy neighbors at 4:30 AM. one day we never had maid service but the staff was very accommodating in tidying our room at 5:30 pm. the animal skins and heads I thought were unnecessary and we would have preferred a ceiling fan over the bad versus the antler light fixture since the windows do not open so you must use the noisy AC. there were only 3 drawers so my husband never unpacked the 5 days and a small refrigerator would be a nice addition. the staff was very friendly and the location is great even though the property is between 2 fast food chains! we tried to sit outside one evening on an upstairs patio but there were no chairs! so there really is nowhere to actually sit outside which is a bit odd. there were also not many electrical outlets which is odd in this day and age with new hotels. but the beds were comfy and that's always important. too bad about the train......that freight train some nights took an hour to get thru town

Room Tip: corner rooms have more windows

Thank you for taking the time to send us your comments from your recent stay. It is with feedback such as yours that allows us to continue to improve our product and service. I apologize for the challenges you encountered during your stay. We do have a dimmer switch on the bathroom lights. I have notified our engineering department to check the dimmer switches and A/C units to make sure that they are functioning properly. We hope that you will stay with us again in the future. Please contact us prior to your arrival. We have small refrigerators for our guests to use. We would be happy to place one in your room. Please feel free to contact us if there is anything more that we can do for you.

This Marriott property is located on a busy corner in Biltmore Village sandwiched between McDonalds and Hardees. Not what we expected in the beautiful mountains of the Asheville area. Street noise at night. Restaurant very nice, cozy lobby, comfortable rooms (except no wall between bed and bath area!). Spa way overpriced! Overall service in hotel was great- what we would expect from Marriott. Will stay at the Inn at Biltmore next visit.

I am very sorry that the location of our hotel did not meet your expectation. We feel fortunate to be situated on the edge of the Historic Biltmore Village, literally across the street from the entrance to the Biltmore Estate. We are just two miles to down town Asheville and a short drive to the entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Thank you for your kind comments about the restaurant, lobby, rooms and service. I have passed your comments on to our Chef and his team.

Best regards,
John Luckett

We have stayed at every fine hotel in Asheville, including the Biltmore Inn and numerous trips to the Grove Park Inn. These hotels are great, but the Grand Bohemian is by far our favorite. You can't beat the location, the rooms are large and unique, and the staff is fantastic. Our last stay was for four nights, and three of the 5-star restaurants we went to were within walking distance. Everyone is so friendly. The spa is great. The gift shop is very unique. We recently spent time at one of their hotels in Savannah, and it was equally wonderful. Wherever there is a Grand Bohemian hotel, that's where I'll be staying. And their lighting/chandeliers/sconces are incredible.....

Thank you for those gracious remarks. We could not agree more. Please contact us when you plan to return. We would like to assign you the same room since you enjoyed that one. It is nice to hear that you experienced our hotel in Savannah. We actually have two different hotels in Savannah, each with its own unique design and style. If you are ever in Florida, we have three hotels in the Orlando area and one in St. Augustine. Out west, we have two in Colorado and one in New Mexico. You are able to see the entire collection and book rooms at our website, kesslercollection.com.
