We ate here on a Thursday evening. The room was wonderfully decorated for Christmas. It was my wife's birthday. The hostess greeted us and immediately wished my wife a Happy Birthday. As did every server, manager and assistant. A very nice touch.
Service was excellent. Attentive, without being cloying.
We ordered one prix fixe 3 course meal at $48 and one starter and main, a la carte.
The prix fixe was good value and selections from the regular menu. They started us with a fantastic amuse bouche of a tiny bowl of soup. Wonderful taste.
I had the prawns (only 2) over a bed of corn with a tomato tapenade. Delicious. My wife began with the potato gnocchi with crab and parmesan. We share everything and loved them both.
We chose the mustard grilled pork tenderloin and the heritage chicken as mains. The portions were ample. 6 slices of each. They were amazingly good.
We only had one dessert. The chocolate torte. They sang happy birthday and brought 2 complimentary glasses of sparkling wine.
Total for the meal with a bottle of the limited reserve chenin blanc and tip and tax was $155. It was one of the better meals I have eaten. The view is great and the food and service could not have been better. Incredibly romantic.
