We so enjoyed our stay at the Lucerne Chalet. It is so comfortable, warm and charming. The private neighborhood is great and really helped us to reconnect, unwind and de-stress. Judy and her staff made sure everything was perfect. Her cookies were the best. If you're looking for a restful, peaceful vacation, the Lucerne Chalet, in Asheville, N.C., can't be beat.

We recently traveled to Asheville in January to search for homes. We needed somewhere that was affordable and could accommodate our 2 year-old and our dog. I was able to call and speak directly to the owner. She was very helpful, as was her assistant. The cabin was clean and neatly decorated. The kitchen was well stocked, including fresh ground coffee and complimentary cookies! The price was very competitive with area hotels, but with more space and we were able to leave our dog while we were touring homes. My only complaints were that there was not much green area for our dog to use, and the parking was a little tricky. However, this would not deter me from recommending the Swiss Chalets to any guests visiting the area.

If you're someone who hates to leave your furkids home when you travel, you MUST try this place! We met some friends from Atlanta in Asheville on our way down to Charleston. We wanted to visit Asheville and the Biltmore. Since we had dogs (and our friends did not) we needed to board the dogs for our visit. I couldn't find any boarding kennel I found to be satisfactory..and did a search for pet friendly accomodations. The Asheville Swiss Chalets came up and they sounded too good to be true. After reading glowing reviews, we got excited to stay there...sounded like an added adventure to our Biltmore visit. Well..it's a lil' tricky to find...but OH! so worth it! Super clean accomodations. And charming. And thoughfully furnished with everything you need including...fresh coffee beans...both regular AND decaf. Candy in the candy dish and giant fresh cookies from the owner's bakery/restaurant. The kitchen is decked out with all the little incidentals one hates to have to buy for just a couple meals...i.e.spices, olive oil, sugar & creamer..even paper towels.. dish detergent. My husband even found some teabags one night when he was wanting some tea with his late night cookie snack. We were there right after New Years and Judy had a few Christmas decorations still up, including a small, sweetly decorated Christmas tree and windows surrounded with lights. Very Festive! Our friends, who stayed at another Chalet, joined us for wine and cheese the first evening, and the guys went out on the porch to smoke a cigar. We joined them with the dogs and enjoyed a very crisp evening with a wonderful view, the lights of Asheville sparkled thru the trees and we all agreed it was awesome and commented on how nice it must be there during all the different seasons. We felt like we were in a treehouse looking out over the world. At the Alpine, the bath was small, but clean and well equipped. The kitchen had anything you needed to prepare a light breakfast or a 7 course meal. The fireplace was cozy and the furniture was comfortable. Another user said 'it was like staying at a good friend's house'...may I add...a very clean and thoughtful friend with charming taste. Our dogs loved it...as did we..during the night we just had to open the door and they were free to roam out to the wraparound porch, to the deck and out to their 'yard'. There were several gates so we could leave areas open or closed, for them. We regretted it wasn't warmer, because we would have loved to grill up some steaks and seafood on the giant gas grill on the deck. Because we travel to Charleston 7-8 times a year to our winter home, this was a wonderful way-destination for us. We will definitely be back and plan on staying a few more days...2 was not enough! And it made our trip to Charleston so much more pleasant because we only had to drive another 3-4 hours to get there..as we usually soldier thru and drive 14 hours straight from NY. Free Wi-Fi, cable and comfy beds, fluffy towels and even robes. A binder filled with everything you ever wanted to know about Asheville with all kinds of sightseeing suggestions. My husband and I, along with our friends just loved the place. Our friends...who are not really 'dog people', loved it as much and commented a couple times on how very clean and comfortable the chalets are. Truly a pleasure. I only wish Judy would open a chain of these across the country, and we would definitely love to traverse the USA with our furkids, staying at these charming chalet accomodations along the way. We highly recommend...it was so much nicer than a regular old hotel and so unique it made our visit very memorable. These people got their act together. Clean, comfortable, convenient, charming and welcoming. It was a lovely adventure and we can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: I spoke to Judy's assistant when making our reservations and she asked me about our dogs. After...

We really enjoyed our winter vacation; we stayed in the Interlaken Chalet. It was perfect for me, my husband, son and my two small dogs. We were pleasantly surprise with all the Christmas decorations, including a tree. The cottage was impeccably clean and very comfortable. We use to spend the days hiking; and couldn't wait for that time in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the view from our balcony enjoying a glass of wine. It was the perfect set up.
Our dogs loved the morning walks throughout the property premises, and the winter weather was great for a change. We live in South Florida, if you know what I mean. I would definitely recommend Asheville Swiss Chalets to family and friends. We have a delightful experience, and I felt it was our home away from home.

We stayed at the Beau Cottage while on vacation with our dog, and it couldn't have worked out better. Our canine companion loved the partially covered porch and enclosed yard. The cottage was well equipped, with everything we needed to cook some of our own meals. The location is very convenient to downtown Asheville and all that it has to offer, but sometimes you don't want to go out for every meal, especially when traveling with pets, and the cottage made that easy. We will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Lucerne Cottage with our 2 furry friends. It was fantastic. The cottage was very comfy and had everything you could need. It is set up perfectly for taking your dogs with you. The spacious and comfortably furnished deck has gates so that you do not have to worry about where your puppies are. Attached to this is a small fenced dog pen where they can do stay while you are out eating or doing things that they cannot do with you. The kitchen had a nice assortment of supplies for cooking. The Christmas decorations were a very festive touch too. The beds were very comfy and there was a tv in the den and both bedrooms. We will definitely stay here again!
