We've wanted to go to Stone House Market for quite a while and we finally went on a Friday night. Unfortunately we were disappointed. It's a cute place that seats about 25 people in two rooms. Service was very slow but we knew that going in so not a problem. Their very short wine list was bargain priced. Their bread was terrific -- it looked good, tasted great and we asked for a second loaf. Small salads preceded the entrees and they were just OK. The entrees change every week so call before going. We had lamb kabobs and pasta with sausage. The portions were large but there was too much going on in the plate to be successful. The lamb had figs, raspberries, collards etc. and the lamb was not top notch. The homemade pasta was good but it was overwhelmed by the tomato sauce. The homemade sausage wasn't bad but it was bland. Maybe we picked the wrong dishes. One footnote: the restaurant's one server was very pleasant but really overwhelmed.

We had the mussels and then the lamb and bass. I would recommend both highly but the bass was melt in your mouth excellent. Go now!

Yes - the restaurant is eclectic, Yes- not fast . That's the point !!!! . Totally relaxing and not rushed. Last nite was our 20th wedding anniversary and we were delighted with our meal choices. (we always are) All prepared to perfection with a lovely presentation. Soft background music and no loud noises so easy to carry on a conversation while dining. First time try was Dan's "Bread Pudding" and it is delectable. We usually are too full for dessert but Deb brought some out and from here on in we may just have to save some room for this special treat. Bon Appeptit !!!!!

This unique and charming restaurant is set in a renovated stone gas station that seats approximately 30 people. It is run by Deb in the front of the house and her husband Dan in the kitchen. They do an incredible job! Deb is friendly, professional and attentive with a lot of sweet stories about how they ended up running this great little place. Dan, a self-taught chef, is happy to come out and meet you and talk about his wonderful food. This is our second visit and we loved it just as much as the first time. We were with friends and we each had a different entree, some great Spanish wine and shared one dessert (Lamb, Chicken, Fish, Bison and Orange Bread Pudding). We are happy to recommend this great tucked away restaurant which is only open for dinner from Thursday to Sunday. You'll know it was an old gas station when you have to use the restroom, because you have to go outside and around the back of the building! Take a drive to this sweet little gem of a restaurant - you won't be disappointed!

Nothing spectacular, just good. I guess we expected too much because of all of the excellent ratings this restaurant received. We found the service friendly but a slow, the food was plentiful and tasty, but not exceptionally so. We are just vacationing in the area for a few weeks, but I doubt we will reurn to this restaurant.
