It is an amazing place. Lots of stuff to see. We ate at the carriage restaurant which used to be the horse stable and their warm pamito cheese was Amazing. Defiantly bring water and comfy shoes.
For such an old place it really had a lot of very cool things. Couldn't even imagine growing up in such a beautiful place.

We toured this over two days since we were staying on the property. The first day we used the audio tour. The second, we just looked at everything we missed the first day and talked to the people working there. If you only have one day, pay the extra for the audio. The house will take a few hours. They say two but you will be busy looking and talking to other people. You should allow for three! They take your picture on the tour so you may want to wear a nice outfit and have your hair and face prepared! Lots of opportunities for pictures so you definitely want to keep a camera (or phone) handy!

Just returned home from a day at The Biltmore. We have been passholders for about 16 years and only live 90 minutes away - so we go multiple times a year and take friends. Today, we took a young girl from Holland for her first visit. She was very impressed. We had a great lunch at the Stable Restaurant (rotisserie chicken was wonderful). We noticed two things worth mentioning. First, a new (to us) Passholder perk - being able to park in the B lot when everybody else had to park way down the road in the D lot. Saved us a lot of time. Second, the summer tour is the shortest it has ever been. There were 12 bedrooms that used to be on the tour which are now not available - including the 'new' bedrooms where the babies were born. We remember the days when we used to see EVERYTHING. We understand shortening the tours, but we think it's now TOO short. Memo to Biltmore management: be careful not to cut too much out while raising prices. And, at the very least, post of schedule of what rooms are open (or closed). We were very disappointed today.

Thank you for sharing your experience and your support as a Biltmore Annual Passholder. We are sorry to hear that your recent visit did not meet your expectations. Due to the historical nature of Biltmore House, constant restoration and conservation efforts are done to ensure the rooms and artworks are at their best viewing state. This may also mean some rooms, in certain times of year depending on the nature of the restoration and conservation required, will not be available for viewing. In any case, for a number of years now, the self-guided tour involves 4 levels of Biltmore House (1st to 3rd floor and the basement) with approximately 40+ rooms. We greatly appreciate your feedback and have shared it among leadership for consideration on discussions about future changes.

The house is gorgeous, of course. If you are claustrophobic, you will not like it. Everyone bottlenecks at the narrow doorways and stairs, and behind the people who are standing in the middle of the world listening to the audio & not paying attention to others trying to get by. But it's pretty. We won't do house again. The grounds are the best part-especially if you are a runner. Amazing trails everywhere, you can rent bikes, ride horses, we saw Segways and kayaks and tubes. The gardens were beautiful! Public Bathrooms are fairly clean, though dated. The food smelled amazing, but we didn't eat on the grounds. We also did not stay in the hotel/inn or visit the stores in the Village. Pressed for time. But the outsides looked great! There is an enclosed playground for littles if you need that. Pets can be on the grounds-leashed-but not in house (obviously).
