We took our boys ages 12 and 9 to the Biltmore Estate the first week of January. We wanted them to see the house while it was still decorated for Christmas. We were a little worried that our 9 year-old would be bored so we purchase the children's audio tour for him. It was only ten dollars and was well worth it. It was narrated by Cedric the family dog which made it fun. After every room, he would tell us little interesting facts. My oldest was just fascinated by the architecture.
The house and grounds were just as beautiful as the last time we visited in 2002. We enjoyed the Christmas trees and decorations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Being AAA members, we purchased our tickets through them, but we made the reservations for the house tour through the Biltmore phone service.
My husband took advantage of the wine tasting afterward. The bartender was great. He gave our boys a grape juice tasting so they felt included. The whole trip was a wonderful experience for them. If parents have any doubts about taking their children on to the Biltmore, I would say take them!
