Unfortunately, we were there when it was cold and the tulips had not bloomed yet, but still a great visit and beautiful grounds and gorgeous house! We took the audio tour and it was so worth it. It even gives you additional "tidbits" about various areas/rooms of the house. I would have loved to seen it back in the day when it was functioning!!

It's worth the price. Order your tickets a week in advance online for cheap. The entrance is right on the road. The attendants and guides are very professional and helpful. Once you are on the grounds, it is very relaxed. Just be prepared: When I used to go 30 years ago, you could run in and literally bounce from room to room without seeing another soul. It was like your own private mansion. Now, you will stand in a line that is 5 people wide and runs through the entire house moving slowly. It still only takes a couple of hours to move through, and you will be glad that you were made to move slow and absorb it all. Plus, they have the audio tour now for another ten bucks which is well worth it. It's a little phone that you hold up to your ear and punch in the number for each room for its complete history. This keeps the kids entertained. Also, nice big garden and a huge outdoor cafe. It's half your day in Asheville. Enjoy.

Plan a day for sure and maybe more. So much to see and do. The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of walking so wear comfortable shoes, but its worth every step!

The Biltmore is Amazing! We did the house tour. I would highly recommend the audio tour. It's $10 and you need one for each person in your group but it is worth it. It's an audio device that you hold up to your ear and as you enter each room you enter the room number on your audio device and it tells you all about the room. The Biltmore experience is a must. The house tour, audio tour and our food was our only expense for the day. Parking and shuttle service is not additional charge. Our shuttle bus drivers were so informative and had great personalities. Our driver to the house in the morning told the story of George Vanderbilt and a brief history of the Biltmore. He was so passionate about The Biltmore as he told the story I had chills as we turned the corner and we saw Biltmore. The house tour took a couple hours then we walked the grounds, the shops, the gardens and drove down to Antler Hill. Antler Hill has a nice area to see the animals (horses, goats, turkeys, chickens, roosters, donkey). Antler Hill also has a blacksmith & woodsman. Also, you can do a Segway tour or horse trails and 22 miles of walking or bike trails. We had brought our dog with us and she allowed on all the grounds except for in the Biltmore House. We are looking forward to our next visit where we want to do some of the architecture and behind the scenes tour.

Enjoyed an amazing day trail riding and touring the Estate. We started the day off with Gary and Bianca as our guides. The horses were very well taken care of. They seemed to know the trail so even a nervous beginner would feel at ease. We then toured the Estate which is breathtaking. It was our 4th time back and every time we pick up on something new. Making plans for next year already!
