It is an amazing place of beauty and luxury that is difficult to relate to, especially when it was built for a single man who later married and had only one child. Breathtaking to say the least.

First time I drove up to it, I could not believe how majestic it was, and what a location to see the Mountains in the distance. Of course, it was a bit pricey, but you must see it. Xmas time is particularly exciting. Then the spring with all the gardens

WOW, I was really amazed. This is a beautiful estate and has a wonderful breath taking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Could not have imagined living in a place like this. If you are in the Asheville area, please take the time to stop & visit. The history of the Biltmore is beautiful and to hear the history is really amazing. Make sure to spend the extra few dollars to get the audio headphones to make the tour complete. The winery is also really nice and prices are very reasonable. I was with my sister & she could not do a lot of walking so I did not see the cars or do the carriage ride but will make sure to do this next time. The shops and really nice. We had a lite lunch from the the Bake Shop there on the grounds next to the house and we shared a sandwich and bowl of soup and was more than enough for the two of us. I can't stress enough how nice this was and was well worth the money for the ticket.

My wife and I have always wanted to make a trip here, but other places and travels took a priority and in these tighter times, with fall colors, the timing seemed right. What a pleasant surprise, perfect weather for the entire week we visited. There are a number of venues and side trips, this review will try to brielfly cover the House, Gardens, village and Bistro/wine room. First off do the Audio interior tour of the House. You could live in this place and as we wandered through it felt very homey and alive, the staff were doing Christmas trees and decorating, festive and fun. The house is timeless in style and will speak to those who are charmed by European "Old World" elegance, the audo explains the family history as it realtes to the house in vivid detail without being boring, state of the art equptment is the order of the day. There is an adjecent Gift shop. The Gardens are a short walk to the left of the main building, or as you leave the front door to your right.. Allow an hour and a half for the tour, at lease 30 minutes in the Gift shop, another hour in the Garden and Conservatory, or do as we did and divide the tour into two seperate days. Then spend at least nother couple of hours at the Wine room, they will pour you 5 free to taste, or buy a glass of your favorite at the Bistro wine Bar, you have to get back into your car to travel to the inner Village Annex (on the Grounds), then Biltmore Village a totally seperate shopping area is outside the main gate which is worth a day of window shopping. We spent five full days in the Ashville area, enjoyed 4 really great Resaturants, The Black Bird just opened in xyz Lofts building (my personal favorite), the Tupelo Honey for a great brunch, Cucina 24 and the Curate' ( reviewed seperately), plus a Food Walk-the one with the wine- and a Red Trolly tour, the prices were very reasonable and service and friendliness second to none, now we understand why they call Ashville the Paris of the South. We will be back... Note dinners and drinks for two $65-75 range, tours $40+/-pp You too can have a really good time here without breaking the bank.
