We only stayed over one night but were very pleased with the hotel. The pool and hottub looked very inviting although we didn't have time to enjoy them. The room was wonderful. We stayed in the King Suite which had the bedroom separate from the living room. There was a lot of space and the balcony was a nice feature as well. Although they were in the middle of a renovation to the yard below our balacony so there wasn't a lot of pretty things to look at but rather a mud pit. My three year old son found the mud pit interesting to look at so we didn't mind.

Room Tip: If you are getting the balcony ask what it overlooks and what view you will have.

Usually when my boyfriend and I visit Asheville, we stay at the SpringHill suites which is on the same road as the Courtyard. The Springhill has been a good option for us, but on our last visit, the Springhill was booked so I booked we booked the Courtyard. The lobby looks like it was recently re-done and there is a large seating area with TV's, a pool, hottub, etc... overall it is a very nice hotel for an average price. Our room was a different story - we were on the 3rd floor in a King room. The room itself was ok in terms of looks and layout - it was just the horrible moldy smell and the constant feeling that the room was "damp". I can only assume they have some sort of issue with a roof leak or something that is causing this effect. Even with the A/C running there was this feeling of humid air and dampness in the room. I noticed another review mentioning a musty smell...we arrived shortly after a major rain storm - so I am guessing it had some effect on the condition and smell. Definitely an issue they need to fix. This is also just a general complaint about the Courtyard chain.....no free breakfast. The SpringHill next door has a free breakfast every morning. While the Courtyard may offer more menu options, it is all charged seperately - but at least it gave us an excuse to check out some local restaurants for breakfast during the time we were there.

Thank you for staying with during your visit to Asheville. Please accept my apology for the "musty" smell you encountered in your sleeping room. Since your visit, we have had our roof looked at several times to investigate any leaks that we may have had. Some minor issues were discovered and fixed. I appreciate your kind remarks about the lobby and fact that you took the time to write a review. It would be our privilege to provide your overnight accommodations again while you are in Asheville.

All Courtyard Marriott hotels that we have stayed in on this trip have had one failing in my estimation. The new makeover was obviously planned by a man... Everything in the room is geared up for the convenience of the traveling business man, with a well equipped desk for computer access etc. Come on chaps...where is the mirror behind the desk to enable female guests to use the facility to apply their makeup and style their hair?

Also, walls were so paper thin that we could have had a conversation with the people in the next room. Apart from this, hotel was fine.

We stopped at this hotel on our way back from Myrtle Beach and enjoyed our stay. The rooms are inviting, clean and modern. There are several outlets which is nice, and some rooms have balconies. Beds were comfortable and sufficient. The pool was small but clean and warm. The restaurant had a nice little breakfast place with tv's at the booths. It's a little bit further than we anticipated from downtown Asheville but not a big deal with a car. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful!

Although the hotel is literally right off Tunnel Road and I-240, it is tucked away so efficiently that you can't even hear the traffic noise. The hotel has an upscale feel (even compared to other Courtyard by Marriott properties). There is a nice patio in the back, a spacious lobby, well maintained fitness and pool area.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our only disappointment was that the first room we were assigned to was muggy and had an significant musty odor to it. The 2nd room was better, but still not 100% fresh smelling.

We had breakfast in the Bistro. They do not have a buffet at this location, it is a la carte ordering. Pricing is fair (somewhat expensive, but the quality of the food and the convenience justifies the price). We were able to enjoy our breakfast on the patio, and even the General Manager came out and greeted us!

It had been unseasonably hot in Asheville during the time we stayed at this hotel. We hope the musty smell had something to do with that. We're definitely impressed with the service and upscale nature of this property and are willing to give it another try when returning to Asheville.

My mom and I stayed here for her birthday trip. The service was what I'd expect at a 4-star hotel. From the warm greeting and easy, speedy check in to great guidance for buying Biltmore tickets and finding food. One potential problem was an air conditioner that stopped cooling as well as we had hoped. When we left the hotel for a day in town, we let them know of the problem. When we got back, there was a new a/c installed. Wow! E eryone was kind and attentive. We felt like guests in someone's home rather than customers at someone's job. Thanks! (better than the high-priced less than totally friendly b&b where I stayed the last time in Asheville!)
Also, a Carabbas is in the parking lot.

Thank you so much for you kind words about the hotel and our staff. Your remarks will be shared with everyone. It is always nice to know that we are taking care of our guests. Please accept my apology that the air conditioner in your room had to be replaced. Whenever something mechanical breaks down, we appreciate being informed of the situation so that we can correct it like we did for you and your mother. We welcome you celebrating your Mother's birthday in Asheville and at the Courtyard. Let's make it an annual event!

We were going to a wedding in Asheville and wanted to spend a few days afterwards to explore the area, however the Inn we were staying were less than stellar. Being Memorial Day weekend we had very little luck finding a hotel room, however the front desk staff at the Marriott was most accommodating to work with us. The hotel itself is a bit out of the city but clean, pleasant and very well run. We had a very pleasant stay and we would definetely stay there again if we are in the area.
