Great price, clean room, nice staff. Comfortable beds, good breakfast, refrigerator and microwave in room. Stayed around back, heard no noise at all. Highly recommend, I would have driven right past this place and missed a great hidden gem!

This place wasn't great, but it wasn't a dump. The staff was nice. The beds were nice. The bathrooms were so very small. The TVs were tubes, not flatscreens. But we had cable. The breakfast was okay. It seemed clean, but not immaculate. The hotel is located on a busy street and you can hear all the traffic all night long.
It worked for the 1 night we stayed.

Good: Super great price for the room. Room has been remodeled within the past few years. New stylish furnishings in room. Comfortable bed, comforter, and pillows. Cable has a wide variety of channels including HBO. Very clean room. New looking refrigerator in room. Front desk staff was pretty friendly and helpful.

Bad: Awkward steep entrance into parking lot. Motel type rooms with a fair amount of noise from the busy street outside. Old small T.V. Had to carry my heavy bags up to the third floor, as there was no elevator that I could find. Expect a $50 authorization hold on your card even if the room is prepaid for.

Over all I think I got a great deal on this room and it is very clear that the hotel owners are making a great effort to keep the rooms updated and in great shape, even though this is an older motel. I'm sure they already have this in their plans for the near future, but it will be great when they finally upgrade to flatscreen T.V.s.

Room Tip: Ask for a lower level room so you don't have to climb the stairs. A room on the backside might b...

The staff is rude, their breakfast is pathetic and the rooms smell musty. The area where this place is located is sketch. Homeless people were hanging out in the parking lot and the place is a dump. I would only recommend this place to someone if the homeless shelter was full.

Negatives: Automobile entry-exit slightly awkward (heavy traffic on main road, steep hill, narrow lane to negotiate). No elevator. Rooms facing the road are noisy.

Positives: At consolidator rates (e.g., Hotwire, Kayak), the property is a good value. Our room was clean and functional (incl. mini fridge). Beds were comfortable. Proximity to Biltmore, Blue Ridge Parkway and I-40 excellent.

I would stay here again, if I could have a room at the back of the property.

We recently booked this hotel through hotwire and were a little concerned about the stay. The hotel is ideally situated within 2 minutes of Biltmore and right off I40. The only complaint is the entrance to the hotel is steep and partially hidden. However, not a huge deal. This hotel use to be a HIE and it is evident even down to the breakfast. The room was nice and clean. Not Terribly large and had an old CRT TV but did have a Fridge/Mic which was a bonus. The bed was very comfortable with nice sheets and overall was a great place to lay your head before a visit to the Biltmore. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially with a budget in mind.

Room Tip: Get a room on the backside of the hotel on the 2nd floor for easy access and more quite.

I booked this room through a blind purchase on Hotwire, and was quite pleasantly surprised at the value. I'm pretty sure this hotel was a Holiday Inn Express in a previous life, and it has carried over all the amenities one would expect to find at an HIE. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the complimentary breakfast was, again, what I would expect to find at an HIE as opposed to, say, a Super 8.
The hotel's location in relation to the Biltmore area and downtown is practically unbeatable. It took all of about two minutes to drive to Biltmore and less than ten to downtown Asheville. You basically can't find a better price for a hotel this close or any closer to the downtown area.
The only issue I had with the room was the fact that every night I was there, I had to track down and evict several stinkbugs from the room; however, after living in North Carolina for several years, I understand that these obnoxious insects are a ubiquitous part of life in this state - given how many of them I regularly have to chase out of my house, I realize that it's virtually impossible to keep them out. It would've been nice to not have to deal with them, but I can't fault the hotel for their presence.
All around a great value, and I would certainly stay here again!

Room Tip: Rooms on the back of the hotel are quieter. If you get a room on the second floor, make sure to park...
