My wife and I are returning to stay at this establishment on 30 Nov 2013. The staff and accommodations are excceptional. This trip is for pleasure to visit the Biltmore Mansion and family for the Thanksgiving Holiday 30 Nov - 1 Dec. The staff are very attentive and the location is perfect for visiting the Biltmore Mansion. Looking forward to our visit and meeting the staff at the Guesthouse International. v/r Charles J. Byers, President of Pleasant Valley Energy, LLC-New York.

Room Tip: Perfect place to visit the Biltmore Mansion during the Thanksgiving/Christmas Holiday period.

The hotel is an older style motor inn but has been remodeled. The furniture was newish and in good condition. They still have a diminutive CRT television in the rooms - no flat screens here. The room was clean and well kept and the bed was quiet and reasonably comfortable.

At check in they demand a $50 deposit, even if you've prepaid for the hotel. They don't want to just hold a credit card number; they want to change it and refund it late. I wish hotels were required to disclose this secret charge before you book, even if you book through a 3rd party site. We were able to check into the room early, as we needed to change before attending a funeral. The front desk staff was very helpful - in fact the best thing about the hotel.

The breakfast was on part for what you would expect from a sub-three start hotel - a waffle iron without any non-stick spray, some store brand cereal, something that was supposed to be scrambled eggs, juice and pastry.

I would consider staying here again if I had to. At least it felt a lot safer than the Days Inn on Tunnel Road.

Room Tip: Back side of the hotel might help with noise. Heard sirens at least 3 times during the night.

The Guest House hotel is clean, pleasant and comfortable. The front desk staff was extremely helpful, providing detailed restaurant suggestions and lots of good directions. We went to one of the suggested restaurants, Cantina, and the food was excellent. There were lots of basic amenities in the room, such as a hair dryer and a coffee pot. We were pleased.

This is a very nice, clean, newer hotel only about two blocks from the Biltmore House, and available at a very reasonable price. The staff was especially positive and helpful. The furnishings were of very good quality and obviously well-maintained. Of particular note was the extraordinary breakfast. It offered several hot items, including scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, hot cereals and waffles. It also offered numerous cold items, including yogurt, several cereals and boiled eggs. There was a variety of pastries, including light and dark breads, bagels, muffins and Danish. Not only were all of the breakfast basics there in quality and quantity, but many particularly nice extras were provided as well. The coffee was very tasty, with real half and half and capped carrying cups available; the milk was offered in whole and skimmed varieties; the pastries were accompanied by packages of real whipped butter, peanut butter and creamed cheese, not to mention a variety of sweet jellies and spreads; the fruit juices were tasty with no hint of having been watered down; there were even nice, large, napkins and handy carrying trays. All of this wonderful fare could be eaten in either of two adjacent breakfast rooms, both of which were furnished with an abundance of tables. One of the rooms was equipped with a large HD TV tuned to the morning news. Outstanding! One of the very few negatives: our room (with two queen-sized beds) was a little cramped in the bath, but that certainly didn't keep the large shower head from being absolutely marvelous! All-in-all, a great hotel! I'm ready to return!

Room Tip: Access to the hotel is a little tricky. To get in to the hotel, it is necessary to drive into an ent...

Booked on Priceline and got a very good price. As others have noted the entrance is on a very busy road & exiting can be dangerous. We has a second floor room and parked in upper lot so walking to room was level. The AC unit was unplugged. That should have been a hint. We plugged it in and I thought there was an old wet dog inside. No just some loose bolts or something that made enough noise to drown out the traffic outside, except for the sirens.

Staff was helpful and breakfast was OK. Nothing you would eat at home. Seemed like institutional food. Not that I have been in an institution recently.

Room was small but clean. I would suggest spend a few more dollars and upgrade to a nicer hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back of hotel would be quieter but parking lot is crowded.

For the convenience of Biltmore Estates or Biltmore Village visit this is a good hotel to stay in. For an up to date and roomy hotel this is not the choice to make. We booked this hotel through Priceline as apparently many do. The price was about right for the proximity to attractions of Asheville but overpriced for the age, guest space and ease of entering and exiting the property. We found the room to be small but clean. The bathroom was barely large enough to fit a stool and tub/shower in. When closing the door to the stool and shower area there is literally only 1/4 inch between the stool and door. Wi-Fi was adequate even with the room at the far end of the hotel. Noise from the street is not noticeable except, one hears emergency vehicle sirens all night. If possible, one should request a room at the back of the hotel but be sure to do it when booking with Priceline as the hotel will not change anything on your itinerary after booking. I made this request to the hotel after the fact through an email to no avail. The breakfast area was crowded but the selection of food was enough and compared to other hotels at this price range. We paid $80 + tax for this hotel. The property entrance and exit is shared with a Texas Roadhouse Restaurant next door and you have to travel through their parking lot to get to the hotel. This can be a convenience or a hazard at times. The entrance and exit is on a busy street and just past the exit lane of I-40 so extreme caution is the key here. Also, a shortcut to the Shell station is next the entrance and exit and I just barely missed a collision with one vehicle using it.

Room Tip: This hotel has no elevator so beware if you have trouble climbing stairs to get to your room with ba...
