I travel for business a lot and this is one of the best Hampton Inn's that I stay in. The front desk staff are always friendly and the rooms are spotless. The location is excellent - close to shopping and many food options. The only negative is the price - it is considerably higher than the other Hampton Inn's in Asheville.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay at our hotel. We have a lot of business travelers that stay at our property because of our location and proximity to downtown. Our location is also the reason that our prices may be slightly higher than those farther from downtown. We understand that guests pay a lot of money to stay at a hotel, and we try our very best to make sure that the hotel is clean and meets and exceeds expectations. We want you to get your money's worth! Thank you again for choosing Hampton Inn Tunnel Road and we hope to see you again on your next business trip to Asheville.

Sincerely,
Jessica Jacks

Stayed over Thanksgiving. Lovely rooms, very comfortable beds. Refridge and microwave in the room. Wonderful little sitting area with a fire place in the lobby. Tea/coffee/hot chocolate available all day long. Excellent FULL breakfast in a very pleasant area in the lobby. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Convenient to the Biltmore and to downtown Asheville and right across the street from a Mall. Would definitely stay there again.

Spent a few days at this hotel for a ladies' weekend. The staff was extremely professional and friendly. Complimentary breakfast was fresh and offered a good variety. The fireplace in the lobby kept us warm and cozy. The Christmas decorations were a nice treat also. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. Great stay. Close to the Biltmore Estate and the Asheville village.

When we got to the hotel we found out our room rate was $119 a night but going through TripAdvisor it cost us $135 a night. We purchased the ticket in advance without any cancellation. When we brought differences in price up with Hampton Inn staff they told us they couldn't do anything about it since we made the arrangements with you.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for our hotel. I apologize that the rates were lower at check in than when you booked through advance purchase. It is rare for that to happen and I can understand your frustration. I would be happy to personally help you with your next reservations. I hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you on your next trip to Asheville.

Initial impression:
The driveway to the hotel gave us the impression we were going to a resort. It was a divided driveway with trees in between and still in their Fall color. The room was beautifully appointed. The furniture was well placed in the room. The room was well lit and the amenities included a microwave, large refrigerator, beautiful wall pictures, Wifi, coffee pot, ice cube container, hair dryer, night light for night visibility to the bathroom, electrical outlets on table lamps, security with new door latch instead of the secuity chain. The room was impeccable.
Bathroom:
The bathroom was very clean with no signs of wear. Towels were meticulously placed. The wash cloths were rolled and stacked on the top shelf (nice touch). The small hand towels were hung and spaced under the bath towels. The bath towels were rolled and stored in their respective compartments. The lotions and shampoos were carefully placed on their plastic platform. Lighting in the bathroom was bright and enabled the occupant to wash and shave. The bathroom was very well done.
Breakfast Area:
The breakfast had a wonderful selection of food items. Hot items, during our stay, included omlets, ham slices, sausages, waffles and oatmeal. The breakfast buffet also included fresh fruit (not canned fruit) such as pineapple, blueberries, red grape fruit, and cantalope. There was also yogurt, pastries and bread. There were various selections for juices and coffee. There was plenty of seating and the area was very clean. The attendants kept replenishing all items for the guests before they were even asked. The breakfast was very well done.
Hotel Staff:
We made our reservation with Jennifer and she was very pleasant on the phone and when we met her at the front desk. We received a courtesy call from Reggie the day before our visit to confirm that we were still coming to this property. Reggie and Kendra were both at the front desk during our stay and they were most helpful with all our questions such as directions, places to eat, etc. Marquese was our room attendant and he was a very pleasant and helpful as well. All members of this hotel's staff were very accommodating, pleasant and they certainly made our stay a very welcome visit. We will most definitely stay at this hotel on our future visits.

Room Tip: We had room #518 that faced the front of the hotel. You could see the vehicles parked there and the...

My experience in the hotel was very good. Clean room & bathroom, breakfast always hot, Wi-Fi was ok, staff would make sure everything was ok. Area is accessible once you get there. Thank you Cali, Jessica, Reggie, Maggie, Leroy and Cody for making the stay more enjoyable while I was in my business trip, your tips and recommendation on what to do and where to go were great. Hope you keep doing a good work and Merry Christmas to you all. Gun ho! (I think that was how its spelled)

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Asheville for five nights recently. The only bad experience we had with this hotel was at check-in. We were about an hour early and our room wasn’t ready yet. Fair enough, and we have no expectation of being able to check in early, although we appreciate it when we can. But the clerk was quite unpleasant about it and told us she couldn’t even guarantee that we could check in at check-in time and that we should keep calling to see when our room would be ready. She didn’t even offer to hold our luggage. She said she couldn’t rush housekeeping (Why? Can’t you prioritize cleaning the room of people waiting to check in at check-in time?). The whole experience was quite upsetting and started our stay on a sour note. Fortunately, her colleague was professional and sorted it out, but wow! Additional training necessary‼!

The hotel itself was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. They mixed up the options every day so it didn’t get boring. Aside from the one employee mentioned above, all of our other experiences with employees were great. Housekeeping came through like a champ every day. The gym is small but good enough, although if more than two people are in it, which there often were, it is very crowded.

The one caveat is that the hotel is located on a small hill that can be dangerous if it is snowing. We aren’t used to snow and it was a little traumatic. Not sure what would happen if you couldn’t drive down the hill due to ice--I wouldn’t want to be stuck there until they figured it out.
