We have eaten in Casavana several times when in the Homestead/Florida City area, and we were pleased with our experience each time. Casavana serves popular, traditional Cuban and Cuban-American food done well, some with a small variation, mostly to Cuban-American families. It is consistently bright and clean, and in our experience the staff have always been polite, reasonably efficient, and quite pleasant to these non-Spanish-speaking customers. A few have very limited English, but generally were happy to call in a colleague who was fluent if necessary; most were pleased when English-speaking customers made an effort to use some Spanish. Prices seemed to us quite reasonable, portions were large and the food well-prepared. They have a good choice of grilled and pressed sandwiches. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the breakfast menu is always available. They usually have a few specials on a board that are not on the menu.
Casavana is part of a small chain of four Miami-area locations, but our visits have all been to their Homestead location.
