This winery is set in South Florida's Redland area and the drive to this place, in itself, is interesting.
The Schnebly winery, however, is a different story. The entrance hall is beautifully decorated and the outside garden is also very pretty but staff is simply dreadful.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with the most uninterested woman ever. We mentioned it was our first time visiting and if she could explain the different tour or tasting and she pointed to some leaflet and read it with the worst attitude ever!
Even so, we paid for the tour and it was all very disappointing. The guide was reciting some text he had said so many times, with no verbal inclination and had the same bad attitude as the front staff. At one point, I almost asked if we were "disturbing" him, such was his level of interest (or lack of!)
We have visited many wineries and we thought that the tour would include a plantation visit or something similar but it was just the storage/cooling facility.
Sadly (I was really looking forward to visiting this place after reading other reviews) I dont really recommend this place to anyone unless they really re-train their staff. So disappointed that we didnt even buy any of the wines.
I visited it on a Saturday.

Florida is known for many wonderful things, perhaps the least of which is wineries. But surprise; nestled in south Florida in Redland, (near Homestead) is Schnebly Winery and Brewery. They feature some mighty fine fruit wines and great beer, for those who prefer a nice brew. What is special about this winery is the gorgeous grounds, the knowledge of those pouring the tastings and their desire to make your experience there exceptional. Some of the finest wineries in the country are located in the Finger Lakes region of New York and they seem to have paid close attention to what they have been doing there. A visit to Schnebly will be a terrific experience and odds are you will walk our with a bottle or two of wine and a really nice memory.

Beautiful tropical scenery in the middle of farmland south of Miami. The wines are all made from tropical fruits, and they now have a brewery. $10 to taste 5 different wines--either table wines, or dessert/sparkling wines, and you keep the glass. $5 additional to taste 2 varieties of the Lychee wines, which are probably the best, and have won awards. Can also do beer tastings, and tours. The staff was very friendly. Surprisingly kid-friendly too.

Who'd a thunk - there's a winery in Southern-most Florida! You won't find grape varietals here, rather wine is made from avocado, coconut, star fruit, mango and other tropical plants. For $10 you get a tasting of up to five of these exotic wines - and you get to keep the wine glass. It's a great deal! I liked the Sweet Avocado wine and the Carambola the best.

So glad we were told about this place ! What a great afternoon. Really interesting wines (no grapes - all made from tropical and exotic fruits. The staff could not be more friendly, or knowledgeable. They also have a deli counter with some really interesting cheeses (the bleu brie is to die for !), an acoustic guitarist outside on what are breathtaking grounds.

Definitely worth the visit !
