Hotel Redland is a quaint 12 room hotel that offers clean comfortable rooms, terrific food at the restaurant, the Whistle Stop Restaurant, and is affordable and conveniently located. But what really makes this place shine are the owners, Mark and Linda Bell. They are exceptional people who welcome you into their establishment and treat you like dear friends. We only spent one night at Hotel Redland, but it was a highlight of our trip through the Everglades. After dinner, we wandered into the cozy bar for an after dinner drink and ended up visiting with Mark and Linda for hours. We were fascinated to learn about the history of Homestead, including the fact that the town was decimated by Hurricane Andrew (something we were unaware of of), and about the historic hotel, itself. Mark and Linda are a delightful couple and wonderful hosts who genuinely care about their guests and providing top notch service.

We usually are HI Express people, but the one in Homestead only got fair reviews. So we found the Redland Hotel on trip advisor and how fortunate we were! It is a charming mix of a hotel and B+B. It has a very interesting history of being a former general store and post office, be sure to ask Mark and Linda Bell the owners about it. The bed was comfortable, the room not large, but certainly ample and nicely decorated in period style. The bathroom was large and modern. We were also very pleased with how quiet it was. I'd you're in the Homestead area for the night, this is your place!!

Room Tip: Try for room 211.

We just spend a couple of nights at this Hotel for our starting point to the Everglades. It is quite a cute and quaint establishment, very clean and comfortable. What makes it stand out tough was the extraordinary service provided by the owners to all our inquiries. No explanation too long, no question too outlandish, they helped us out with everything they possibly could. Upon noticing us liking some ethnic food, they even recommended a very genuine central american restaurant, even if they run a restaurant of their own. Great people, great stay!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel on Jan. 6 through Jan. 9. This hotel has a bed and breakfast feel with the wrap-around patio and a great area downstairs to relax with a bar, couches, and a TV. Mark, the owner, was so helpful with suggestions for our trip - - - things to do, restaurants, driving directions, history of the area. This was great because it was our first time to South Florida, and I will definitely stay at the Hotel Redland on a return trip.

My friend and I only had a couple days to spend birding in southern Florida and we chose this hotel since it was close to the southern entrance of the Everglades. Perfect site! Mark immediately put us in touch with a local birder who gave us some great tips. We enjoyed the onsite restaurant and its friendly service by Sean. Even though we left before breakfast both mornings the management arranged to have bagels with cream cheese wrapped and ready to go for us. Great decor, amenities, and personal attention by the owners made for a delightful albeit too short stay!
