We had spend a full day in the everglades, late in getting to the room, tired and Hungry.
The Chef On The Run was the only place the clerk knew that was open so we headed there.
What a pleasant find., small, cozy, friendly and the diverse menu was great. Excellent food, we took samples all around and everything was great. Stop by, think you will like it. No alcoho, but you can bring your own.

What a terrific find in the historic downtown of Homestead! Terrific young chef Jo who has won recognition at 2013 and 2014 Miami Food and Wine Festival. We only live 15 miles away in North Key Largo and had no idea this precious little place was here. To be clear we only had lunch .. but incredibly creative burgers, wraps and other special dishes … all very fusion. Talked to Chef Jo about the Dinner menu which looks great an its BYOB .. reservations for dinner a must because so few tables .. but this is a serious find of inventive cruise at reasonable prices …

Chefs on the run is a very small restaurant with only a few tables. We made reservations prior to arriving in Florida however the night we chose they we're not fully booked. It's best not to take the chance. The food was very good. The pork loin with maple glaze was very tasty. As was the steak skewer appetizers. Our waitress recommended a coconut flan for desert and while I am not a big fan of coconut we decided to try it. The flavor was delicious. I am still not a big fan of the coconut shavings though. It was a bit pricey but was a very nice dinner.

Stopped by Chefs on the Run for lunch on the way to the Keys. It was a great experience with a knowledgeable, kind staff and delectable food. The chef even came out to help my sister with her food allergies and made a dish special to accommodate her. Overall the food was original and very tasty and I would love to go back soon.
Also, the best mofongo I've ever had not in Puerto Rico.

I was very impressed at the quality of food for such reasonable prices! It was hard for me to find good quality food in a restaurant setting while in Florida and Chefs on the Run was a diamond in the rough. Quaint with wonderful service. Definitely an artistic touch to the food. I highly recommend.
