“WOW !!!! Great BBQ & out-of-the-ordinary side dishes......”
Reviewed February 7, 2012

I just moved to Key Largo, and went into Homestead for some shopping. Luckily I got a little lost and stumbled on Shiver's. WHAT A FIND !!! I eat out a LOT, so it takes a special place to impress me this much. The baby back ribs were literally fall-off-the-bone tender, and had great BBQ sauce. I had the jalapeno and cheddar grits (I think this is for weekends only) and cornbread souffle, both were PERFECT. I can't praise the quality and uniqueness of these sides enough. The grits were spicey and cheesey, and cooked very well. The cornbread souffle was a cross between cornbread and the tasty corn cakes they serve in the best mexican restuarants....moist and delicious.

“What a find!”
Reviewed February 3, 2012

From European point of view this was very nice and unique experience! Loads of locals and loved the no nonsense long tables and friendly staff. Food was very good, portions good size and very good value for money. Next time in the area, or within reasonable driving distance, will go again!

“Great B-B-Q, Lots of Options, Including Take-Out, & Very Reasonably Priced”
Reviewed December 30, 2011

Shiver's is not to be missed if you enjoy good barbequed food with lots of options. We had the half-slab baby back ribs - they were fall-off-the-bone tender. The meal came with two sides, a tough decision because there are 13 choices. The cole slaw was a hit - creamy and not watery. Cornbread souffle and sweet potato soufle are unique, at least to us (we're westerners), and delicious. 6 dessert options - we had the peach cobbler, which was a large portion complete with vanilla ice cream. There are take-out windows for the meats, cole slaw, bbq beans, and sauces. The atmosphere is fun and energetic and family-friendly - there are 6 kids' meals to choose from. There are plenty of serving-size options for beer. They also provide catering.

“Grew up here”
Reviewed October 27, 2011

Always loved eating here but this time the food was not good. The bbq sauces were tasteless. Just did not enjoy. Sonnys BBQ is much better
