Beside I-20, exit 852A, Laurel avenue while traveling West. Not in the GPS. Hard to find with the address they have.

Reasonable rate. okay for overnight stay.
Bathtub is not clean. Do they clean at all - a question.
restaurant is near quite a few American and Mexican restaurant. Parking is plenty. Free wifi, free parking.
Not far from Lamar University.

The motel 6 website implied this was a new Motel 6. Yes, but it was a very old La Quinta that is being refurbished. The lobby is under construction. The rooms are very old looking. The tub had years of caulking around the edges and was stained from years of not being cleaned well enough. We would not use the tub it was so gross looking. The signage was very hard to see and we missed it on the first pass.
The only good things about this hotel is that front desk clerk was very nice and the wifi was strong and fast! I would not stay at this motel again due to the location.

We stopped here on a trip because we had been here before and had a good experience. They are pet friendly. The employees were very nice and remembered me from the last time. The beds were comfortable and we had a good stay. The room was very clean. I found out this time that the hotel keeps a security guard at night. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

As we pulled up to the hotel lobby to check in an got out of the care the smell of rotten eggs hit us in the face. I am not sure if it was because of the area we were in or if that is the smell of the entire city, but needless to say that will be the first and last time.

I'm assuming this is a corporate-owned facility judging by the bare-bones breakfast, including nasty coffee and the unpeeled boiled eggs (with no place to rinse them) as the only protein available. Small lobby. Room smells and looks clean. Within my first 15 minutes at this LQ, I and three other guests had to return their keys for replacement as they were not opening doors. Desk staff on check-in was extremely nice although customers were backed up and "manager" stayed in office not helping. Only a tiny bit of grass to walk dogs. Noisy, noisy, noisy day and night. Rooms accessed outside instead of inside building, making it easier to unload bags but much more unsafe.
