The view from the restaurant was great, but the food was a disappointment. I wonder if the normal chef was taking a leave considering many people praised its foods. We were there in the middle of the week in January. I ordered seafood linguini. It came out very quickly and was horrible. The pasta was overcooked and the sauce had no flavor. My husband was not impressed with chili he ordered either. The next evening, we played safe and ordered a hamburger and steak salad. It took forever to come out. Still the result was not any better.

Like I said, we may have hit a bad day. It was a trade off between crowd and bad food.

The view from the restaurant is fabulous. They have all glass walls facing out. We watched the sunsets through the " Window "
The service is good. Really nice people doing everything to make your experience pleasant. Our waitress was a gem.
Now about the food:
My experience in the National Parks has been mediocre food at higher than local prices. This is no different.
Breakfast was better than average. Good choices, but high prices.
Dinner was forgettable . The steak is your best option.
Skip the dessert.
Unless you pack your own food in, your closest local eatery is in Terlinga , some 40 minute drive away. Not worth it my book. especially since the roads at night are very dark and mostly deserted.
So kind of a captive audience. Roll with it. The Park itself is worth it.

You don't usually expect a good selection or good food options when staying in a national park, but the Chisos Mountain Lodge Resturant is the exception. Not only was the food well prepared and offered a good selection, the the service was friendly and timely. Expensive, but where else are you going to eat in the middle of the desert. We only ate breakfast and dinners at the restaurant and purchased sandwiches to go at the camp store for lunches.

This is a nice place to start or end your hike with a beautiful view and decent, well priced food. Fun to shop the curios in the gift shop, too.

The food was reasonably priced and very tasty. The servers were delightful young people with interesting stories to tell. The scenery from the window is to die for. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all good.
