“This is well worth the effort”

We had a very good explanation of the history of the area by Wendy, one of the volunteer hosts and, although the museum is small it has many interesting exhibits on the natural history and the people who have a place in the history of Los Alamos. There is no charge for this establishment, however we left a donation. Well done.

“Suprising museum.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2014

This was a nice treat to enjoy a free museum with so many interesting things. It wasn't a huge museum but we spent a little over an hour learning about the many experiments and inventions that had come from the little town of Los Alamos. The restroom facilities and the museum itself were very clean.

“Small but complete”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2013

This museum doesn't take long to see, because it's very small. However, it is well worth the effort. You follow Los Alamos from the site of a ranch school to the site of the Manhattan Project. There are lots of...I don't want to say relics. Donations, maybe, from the people who lived there. The gift shop (which provides part of the funding for the museum) is also small but complete. They had a great selection of books by local authors which can't be found anywhere else. Two thumbs up. Do this after you do the walking tour of town.

“See this if it is the only thing you do in Los Alamos”

Wonderful detail in everyroom. Small but so personable. I had a 20 years Physists tell me about working at the Labs. See replicas of the rooms, the gates and the boys ranch. Boy Scouts will love this place too because of the the memorbilia. Anyone old or young would love this place. Drivers licenses with numbers instead of names, brochures from easter services and parties in the 40s. neat.

“Small but interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2013

The museum tells the story of the town of Los Alamos from the beginning of the Boys school to the Manhattan Project. It was great to follow the establishment and development of the boys school to the transition of the area into the unknown city. There were many interesting exhibits and pictures of this transition.
