“Nice Museum”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

A little tight - museum is in a old home. Lot's of pictures on the history of Los Alamos. It is sad that very little remains of the physical plant where the work went on in World War II to develop the atomic bomb. Be sure to talk with the docents - they have a lot of knowledge.

“Very interesting”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

This is a free museum that focuses on the history of Los Alamos. It is worth doing in conjunction with the science museum. We enjoyed seeing the old buildings from the Ranch school and learning about life in the area (both during the school years and during WWII). It's a relatively small museum and doesn't take a lot of time, but very well done and worth a visit. Kids seem to enjoy it as well.

“Free Museum!”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

It's a free museum! It gives some insight into many different aspects of the area's history like Native American occupation, the Ranch School, the Manhattan Project and more. You can spend anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple hours here. The gift shop had some great stuff in it, too, and you can pick up a (free) Walking Tour map here. You can take a very quick walk around the neighborhood and see a few of the historic buildings that are clustered around the Bathtub Row like Oppenheimer's Cabin and the Fuller Lodge.

“This is worth the stop. Don't miss this museum !”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

It is not a large modern museum. It is worth stopping to see and the price is right. It's free.
You will not only see the history of Pueblo Indians, and the history of the Ashley School, but will get a complete history on the "town that wasn't there". This museum covers from the first of the Manhattan Project through to the end result of the project. Lots of interesting notes and photos.
