“Unique museum”

Shows the importance of the Los Alamos Laboratory in winning World War II. Lots of hands-on things for the younger family members.

“Closed until 1pm Sundays and Mondays”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013

We'd heard really good things about this, but when we got there it was closed, so we can't really comment. Beware, don't go on a Sunday or Monday morning.
Location makes it a good place to combine with Bandelier National Monument.

“Almost too much to do!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

We stopped in after a morning at Bandelier for some cooler (temperature wise) fun. There are many, many exhibits. Almost everything is hands-on or interactive. Clearly lots of money has gone into the museum and it makes it a great place to spend a few hours.

“Great introduction to the wartime work and beyond”

Particularly enjoyed the coverage of work on the Manhattan Project. A couple of good movies to see and replicas of "Little Boy" and "Fat Man" bombs. And it's free!

“Good museum for adults”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

We learned a lot about the first atomic bomb but it was a little too old for my four year old. He was getting bored. My other two kids liked it. It was a rainy day so it fit our needs. This is surely a museum for history buffs!! It is Los free!
