This museum is incredible. We spent two hours there and only went through a quarter of the museum. It covers history, defense, and research related to Los Alamos National Labs and the development of the atomic bomb. So worth the drive, and Los Alamos itself is a nice little town.

What an educational treat! Learn all about the US role in the Manhattan Project and the first atomic bomb. Quite an educational tour. Also, shows you much of what the Research Labs that are still in Los Alamos are doing now for defense purposes and to contain any contaminants from the original project. A whole wall of biographies of the people who lived there during the research phase. See models of the original bombs. Free admisstion. Allows about 2 hours.

The Bradbury Science Museum has enough information to fill a full semester class! A lot of the technical stuff was over my head, but I did enjoy the two movies and learning about current studies going on. The staff was very helpful and there are a lot of amazing interactive exhibits. My husband was in the Air Force, and he was extremely interested in the development of the bomb. Definitely worth visiting!

Wonderful museum with info on the Manhatten Project as well as info on current work being done in Los Alamos. Informative exhibits, films, and interactive exhibits. The staff is knowledgable and helpful. And, believe it or not...it's free.

It's an A-Bomb museum to put it frankly. It;s small and it won't wear you out. but, there;s plenty to see and no one will be in a hurry to kick you out. It's about 30 minutes from Santa Fe and there are some nice little restaurants near by for lunch.
