A restaurant that will not be missed! If you never ate there be glad you never will. Staffed mostly by the local high school students, the service and food left us wondering why anyone would eat here. Maybe it was the lack of restaurants in Los Alamos that kept the Hill diner alive so long, but anyone with a choice of places to eat would choose anywhere else.

This was a favorite of ours, but please note, they have closed down for business this month. They moved some menu items to their other restaurant, Dixie Chicks. We've not been there because when it first opened it was $$$$. Not sure if they lowered prices or not.

I do not think this place has been touched in 20+ years! The tablecloths, seat covers, & booth fabric were torn in several places. AND yes it was vinyl! The food was deplorable as it tasted canned, frozen, and tasteless. The restaurant needs to be deep cleaned, where is the health department?

We went to the Hil Diner fior dinner, a restaurant we go to maybe once a month because my husband likes the Chef Salad. The experience this evening was awful.

We were seated promptly, in a booth in an area where they were starting to mop the floors, because we asked for a booth. The man mopping the floor continued to mop, but did not mop around us, thankfully. The waiter came and took our order, and then the wait began. We waited. And waited. And waited. Tried to catch the waiter's eye, to inquire about our order, and he purposefully avoided looking at us. it's not like they were super busy, there were about 5 booths and tables full.

He brought food to other tables, and we heard people say that that was not what they ordered. Eventually, about 40 minutes in, we managed to flag him down (I had to stand up and wave my arms), and he said that it would be soon, that our order would be up soon, we did have the bacon burger and the chicken-fried steak, didn't we? That was NOT what we had ordered. We told him that we were leaving, and we did.

Ate at mickey d's that night, and saw several of the people there (at least two other groups) that had been at Hill Diner. They were having a real problem, and once we abandoned, evidently everyone else did too.

This place has decor that hasn't been updated, booths that are falling apart, and a service staff that could care less. SAVE your MONEY.
