“Great Option”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2007

With all of the low grade hotels in town, the Sunflower Hill is a good option. Stayed there 3 nights in early April. Pool was open and heated. Staff was very friendly with tips on what to visit. Great breakfast food - fresh fruit, etc...

Only a few blocks from Main Street in town but you would never know it.

My wife and I stayed at this B+B on October 5-6, 2006. Our room, the Sunporch, was delightful. It was large, with a lower sitting area, and very comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and the breakfasts delicious. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was ideal, right in the heart of Moab yet away from the noise. Would highly recomend this establishment. Also stayed at the Red Cliff Lodge during this trip-see seperate review.

My husband and I stayed at the Sunflower Inn for four nights - while hiking thru Arches National Park and nearby canyon and river hikes. It was close to 100 degrees during the day -

This was an absolute oasis. The rooms are wonderful - extremely quiet and comfortable. We would rise very early for their ever amazing breakfast - take off for a very long hike - come back to an almost empty, shaded pool, and then go back out for
an early evening hike. The Inn gave us great recommendations for restaurants and additional information on terrific hikes outside of the National Parks. The staff was very helpful but never intrusive

I read some reviews from people who said that the Inn lacked the "comraderie" between other guests and staff that other B&B's offer. Other then casual good mornings at breakfast, thats all I need from other guests- if you are not happy traveling with your own spouse or friends - that is not the Inn's responsibility. Moab is very limited in choices of lodging; even if there had been a Four Seasons Hotel in the center of town, this would still be our first choice to return to

Wonderful - the pictures on the website do not do this place justice. The rooms are far bigger than expected (we stayed in the Garret) and many have their own private balcony overlooking a large New England style garden / pool / deck area. The sunflower is advertised as a "Luxury Inn" and it certainly felt like it. Customer service was excellent and there were many small touches which helped make the stay special, from the honour bars, free cookies/coffee, DVD collection, washer/dryer facilities, I could go on...

So good that we actually had a day "off" from mother nature to relax in the Inn. We will definately return one day.

LOVELY!!!! I really enjoyed this B&B! We spent 2 nights in the garden room. The atmosphere of theB&B is relaxing and charming, it feels like home. Breakfast is excellent, and every morning there were different things. During the afternoon you can enjoy yourself with bisquites and lemonade in the lobby, reading books and guides of moab, sitting on the comfortables sofa or in the veranda. There is also a washing machine if you need it, internet access, a pool, a wirlpool, nice garden, and many little things that make your staying relaxing and warm.
In the lobby you can find all the informations for restaurants and activites in Moab. Don't miss a dinner at the Desert Bistro! Excellent!
The owner of Sunflower is a very kind and nice family, and you can ask for everything, they will help you!
Finally, I would love to go back to Sunflowerhill!

  • Liked — breakfast. But everything was good!
  • Disliked — wirlpool was closed

We stayed here during August having found the hotel through the Utah website. A small hotel/inn offering uniquely styled hotel rooms. The rooms were extremely comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly. We had originally booked for 1 night but added an extra night after hearing some scary reviews about another place we were planning on staying at. This meant a room change as we couldn't get the same room for both nights. However, the staff were extremely helpful and while we were out exploring for the day they moved our luggage into our new room - most helpful! The Inn was in walking distance to restaurants, had a pool to wind down in after a long day exploring and a fantastic lounge area with cookies, M&Ms, drinks etc. The breakfasts were great, homemade, good quality and just what you need to start the day. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this Inn!

My husband and I stayed in the French Bedroom for 1 night in June 2006. This is the second time we have stayed at this B&B and we like it because it is very clean and is in a quiet residential neighborhood a couple of blocks from downtown. The French Bedroom is lovely and the 2 person Jacuzzi tub is very relaxing after a busy day.

The two complaints we have about this B&B are 1) we felt the innkeepers are indifferent toward their guests and 2) for the price we paid, breakfast should be something more than an expanded continental buffet with cold coffee.

The innkeepers indifference toward their guests wasn't evident when we stayed for several days last year. This year we checked in and the innkeeper barely spoke to us. She wasn't rude, she just didn't say anything other than "hello" and "thank you". The kitchen staff isn't much better, they didn't speak to the guests at all. None of the guests spoke to each other either, which we found a little strange in a B&B where usually the guests are chatting with each other.

The positive is there is a complimentary washer and dryer for the guests to use. There are cookies and ice water in the living room in the afternoon.

We are giving this B&B a 4-star rating because as stated above, it is clean and quiet. There are many less expensive places to stay in Moab but this we feel this B&B is the nicest place of all.

As for a place to eat you can't go wrong at PASTA JAY'S, a very casual Italian restaurant with reasonable prices, good service and great food. The restaurant is within walking distance from the B&B.
