“We wish we had more time...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

My wife and I along with two friends stopped at The Desert Hills B&B for one only night due to time constraints. Vic and Anna were two of the greatest hosts we have ever encountered while travelling. The B&B is better than advertised, the rooms are comfortable and quiet. Vic and Anna gave us great tips on where to go , what to see, and where to eat, and the breakfast was wonderful. Even though it was very cold, we sat in the hot tub and watched the amazing stars. This place has everything, Vic and Anna made us feel right at home, the other guests felt the same way and we had a very nice morning meal together. We can not wait to get back there!!

We hope to return! The B and B truly makes you feel at home. In addition to a generous breakfast, they have fruit and cookies and hot and cold beverages always available for guests. Breakfast is served at a communal table with guests sharing their experiences in Moab. I can not imagine a more welcoming host and hostess. Vic and Anna really go the extra mile to welcome their guests and maximize your visit to Moab.
The B and B is located a few miles south of downtown, which is perfect if you want a quiet, safe, and convenient location. If you want a hot tub, to star gaze at night, there is one for guests!

We stayed 7 nights in the Sunrise Room:

Location was good, 5 mins from Main Street where all the restaurents etc are located, so guests have a quiet and undisturbed stay but are still close to Arches and Canyonlands parks as well as some beautiful local hikes.
Vic and Anna really work hard to personalise things, they add a personal touch with things like suggesting itineries, hikes, places to eat, things to do in the time you have, for what you need or want on a particular day - they have a very good local knowledge on all those things, there's also a nice cooked breakfast every morning in addition to the cold breakfast, nice selection of teas, fruit. They are flexible - I did my washing after 8pm which is after the hours they allocate for using the washing machine, but since there were no other guests that day it was fine since the noise didn't disturb anyone. They also put our washing in our room the second time we used the laundry facilities.

Vic is even making a list of country music for me that they were playing everyday in the kitchen, It's a very family orientated place, comfortable, the type of place you stay at when you don't want to think about anything except relaxation and your holiday plans - things like they have even put the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in a dispenser so you don't even have to think twice about that - everything is pretty much taken care of. It is basically like a house share but with everything done for you.

I would have liked to have had some ginger ale in the fridge and the option of dinner at the house similar to a half board, but apart from that, it was a very relaxed, clean, and comfy place in a great area for outdoors. It's clear that Vic and Anna take great pride in their BnB. I would stay here again when in Moab - still lots more to explore and spots to enjoy again.

We spent three nights here, and we rented the family room -- two separate bedrooms attached to a sitting area in the lower part of the house. Very fair rates and plenty of room for four. Vic and Anna, the owners, offer a lot of amenities that many small places miss. Instead of being a stuffy B&B as so many in the States are, this is more like the traditional "rent a room in our home" kind of place. They offer free drinks, cookies, and fruit 24 hours/day, and encourage you to bring home your food and have it there. Each morning, Vic made a wonderful hot breakfast. They were wonderful helping pick things to do in the area for our trip. Hot tub under the night sky can't be beat - there are robes and towels in your room!

Room Tip: The family suite is definitely a great value, with it's own access to the back yard and hot tub.

Thank you JugglingKenay for the kind words.
We appreciate you coming to our home and making it your home! This is the real feel that we want all of our guests to have when they come here. We really like the fact that you enjoyed our amenities and treated our place like a family house.
We are always afraid that the reputation that all of our guests have given us on Tripadvisor may put us in a spot where people are expecting too much from us or some luxury that we do not offer. What we offer here at our home you have explained perfectly in your review and we thank you immensely for that.
We can't wait to have you and your family again here in the near future.
Vic, Anna and Andre.

Desert Hills was our favorite B and B on our trip to the National Parks in the area. We stayed here for many nights on our Spring Break trip and visited Arches National Park. We were on a big trip to see Zion, Bryce, Arches, and Grand Canyon. My goodness, this is a wonderful place as your base to visit Arches! We loved Moab. Most of all, we loved the hospitality from Vic and Anna. Homemade cookies upon arrival and throughout each day, scrumptious breakfasts with something for everyone to love, and the warm hospitality along with fantastic, detailed advice for the traveler--this is what you get at Desert Hills Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Friends and Family Suite and enjoyed having the great big area to ourselves. Our teenage daughter stayed in one queen room while our son made himself at home in the living room. We parents had a room to ourselves. Having the living room was great as a gathering place to play games and watch a movie at night or just to relax and discuss our fun day together. The stars are beeeeaaa-uuu-ti-ful at this place! We cannot say enough kind things about Vic and Anna and their place. A real gem! By Mary and Jim A., Bellevue, WA

As I always say on my responses to the reviews , we are just a home in a residential street in Moab and we offer quiet, friendly and family oriented accommodations.
We love when our guests feel like this is their home away from home.

The people running a B&B can really make a difference in your stay. Vic and Anna were wonderful, full of suggestions and recommendations. Vic is a fabulous cook and breakfast was terrific with a hot and cold options. We were in the Sunset Room which had plenty of space to spread your stuff out and the bed was very comfortable. This place is very quiet - a little out of town but worth the extra few minutes drive. They have an outdoor hot tub. We were the only ones that used it and it was delightful. With some many things to do in Canyonlands and Arches, we really appreciated Vic and Anna's suggestions on hiking and exploring to make our 4 day visit a success - . We would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone.

Absolutely fabulous accommodations. My husband and I plus a couple from England booked in here for three nights in November then ended up having to stay for a fourth due to weather. We could have stayed forever! The layout is fantastic with every room having great space - most with an en suite. The breakfasts were wonderful with something unique and hot every morning. Lava eggs were my favorite. Vic and Anna know the area so well, their recommendations worked out well every time. If you love star gazing then hop into the jacuzzi and look up! We WILL be back.
