Lucky for us we hit on the Best Western CanyonLands on our first trip through Moab. The hotel is modern, clean and roomy. Its is right on the main street and within walking distance to restaurants and shops. We enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub too.

Moab is expensive. The worst hotels cost too much so it is hard to feel good about paying $200 plus or $300 plus for a run if the mill hotel. That being said this Best Western was great. There are 2 in Moab. The other you access rooms from the exterior. This is a nice hotel in the middle of Moab. It has secure access to the building with access to the rooms from inside. You are walking distance to everything. Try the Jailhouse Cafe for breakfast or for the healthy eater the Peace Tree next door. The staff here was awesome. They were super vigilant to welcome us and make sure we had fresh popped corn and bottled water. They also offered up chocolate cookies, I had 3. The room was clean, same with bathrooms. It is worth mentioning the bathroom had two sinks and two different areas to get ready in the morning. We had a king suite. It also had a sofa, fridge and flat screen. Overall I was very pleased and since we make Moab often this is will be my first choice on future trips.

The Best Western Canyonlands is located at the heart of town. For such a central location this is surprisingly quiet. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable, with fairly new carpets and furniture. Multiple restaurants and adventure tour outfits are within a couple of blocks, so this is really a convenient base for visiting the Moab area. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful – and the fresh cookies and candy they keep in the lobby is a nice touch. The complimentary hot breakfast is pretty good too. All in all, this is an excellent choice that I would recommend. Having stayed for two nights here and for two nights at the Red Cliffs Lodge, I’d say I liked Red Cliffs more than the Best Western, but that mostly reflects my personal preference for its spectacular location.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a kind review of our property. I agree that the Red Cliffs Lodge does have the most beautiful setting. I think that is a great property if you are looking for that type of seclusion and atmosphere. If you are looking to be in the heart of Moab we are the perfect choice as you also stated. We receive many compliments on our fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and I am happy to hear you also enjoyed them! I hope that you will visit again soon!

On a positive note we were allowed to check in at 2PM.

It is difficult to know what differentiates a Best Western from a Best Western Plus. We have stayed in a Plus in Bryce and expected the hotel to be a similar stand; new, bright, modern. This was not any of the above.

After lugging cases up six or seven stairs, the extension levels do not match the lift level. We proceeded along the dark scruffy corridor to our equally dark and gloomy room.

Two weeks after our stay our room is forgettable but I do remember that the rear entry door is not locked during the days allowing anybody to enter the building. There was a note about video recording of door entries but one wonders how it is policed and how easy it is to enter rooms while they are being cleaned. Not that we lost anything, just a word of caution.

The breakfast area and patio was very crowded almost to the point of being dangerous.

Moab is a great base for exploring the Canyons. We only stayed one night and this hotel suited us fine despite the above reservation.

I would first like to thank you for taking the time to share you recent experience. I am very sorry to hear that you were not pleased with your stay. The things you can expect when choosing a BEST WESTERN PLUS hotel are:Upgraded bath amenities, Breakfast,Convenient in-room mini-fridge, Fitness room, On-site laundry, FREE high-speed Internet, FREE local calls, FREE long distance access, Spacious work desk, In-room coffee & tea maker and 24 hour Business center. Our hotel including the corridors were recently renovated. We do keep our external doors unlocked during daylight hours for ease of access when our guests are unloading luggage. All external doors are secured at dusk for safety reasons. Our housekeeping staff are also trained to never leave an occupied room open while they are servicing the room. The first thing we noticed upon arrival was that the staff at this BW were particularly friendly and helpful. An impression that was confirmed throughout our stay. We would like to especially mention Matt at the front desk: his suggestions, his friendliness and genuine care made us feel welcome from the first second in this property.

We were given a nice room on the second floor which was very spacious and quiet even if the window was right above the main parking area. The room was a standard BW room with two double beds and the usual amenities. The bathroom was sizewise a little bit more than the average in the US. The only minor point was the quite noisy a/c but we could switch it off during the night, since it wasn't too hot or cold anyway.

In the morning we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in the breakfast room which is located on the second floor. Good selection and again very proactive staff who kept on refilling the different offerings as soon as there was a need for this.

All in all, a great experience and we would return anytime.

We stayed in room 302, which is a family suite with two large rooms. One room has 3 beds - 2 queens and one king. There is a bathroom with tub, toilet and sink and a separate sink/mirror in the room which was nice for a family with two teenagers. The other room has a dining table, couch, and kitchen counter with fridge, microwave, sink, plates, utensils, etc. Very nice! Each room had a large television but not HD reception so the picture wasn't great. The family suites are in a separate building from the main hotel, across the parking lot and above a restaurant. It was a bit noisy at night but we were so tired from the day's activities to notice :). This is a great set up for an extended stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Easy parking. Nice desk clerk. The room was very large and very nice. We did have a problem with the AC, but the hotel had it repaired at 10:00PM. We were happy with the hotel, but it really was overpriced. I don't think I would stay here again, but only because it isn't a good value.
