“Expensive But Worth It”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2008

"This has been one of our favorite stops for years, despite the prices. We had skipped it the last few times favoring the Love Muffin and other simpler stops. But my wife decided to treat for a pre-Father's Day breakfast. While prices have gone up even more, it was worth every penny!

I went with the chorizo scramble, mixing home fries, scrambled eggs and chorizo sausage, served with three small corn tortillas. It was out of this world with huge quantities!

On the price front, there are a few options. The ala carte prices are actually really good if you want to customize something. And the kids breakfasts are really reasonable.

We had a fabulous waitress, friendly and efficient. And we had no wait at 8:30 a.m., but a good line was forming by 9.

If this is your ONE trip to Moab, this is a stop you can't miss. It's worth the extra bucks."

“Expensive and nothing special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2008

While on a girls' trip in Moab recently we had breakfast at the Jailhouse Cafe. The food was OK but expensive from my point of view. There was nothing great about it. I have had better breakfasts for a lot less at Pancake Haus and Smitty's in Moab.

“Try brunch at the Jailhouse Cafe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2007

We ate brunch at the Jailhouse Cafe after spending the morning at Arches National Park. They had outdoor seating, so we ate outside. We ordered chorizo scramble and southwestern eggs benedict (about $7+ each, I think). What's the chorizo scramble? Eggs, chorizo and potatoes topped with jalapeno peppers, plus sour cream and salsa. Jailhouse Cafe is also famous for their eggs benedict. Imagine toasted English muffins with poached egg and Canadian bacon, plus Hollandaise sauce. Pretty good!

Get a hearty breakfast at the Jailhouse Cafe before doing anything in Moab.
