“So much to see if you know what to look for.”

This place is load with history: Indian dwellings, rock art, cowboy cashes, climbing walls, camping, 4X4 trails, and dinosaur tracks if you know where and what to look for. Have fun and discover something new each time you drive to the Needles District.

“Beautiful area”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

Actually, we thought the drive in was better than the actual park. Loved all the rock formations and colors. It is a bit difficult to get to and a long drive off of the highway. If you only have time for one section, do the Island in the Sky part of the park.

“Almost better than the Needles Distric”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

This tour on the way to the Needles entrance or the drive back is spectacular. You are in the canyon floor with towering walls. it is almost like being at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Also, don't miss Church Rock at the turn off from US 191 to UT211.

“Needles Overlook”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

We went into the Needles area where the visitors center was located, but to get a full comprehension of the magnitude of the Needles district, you need to visit the Needles Overlook. We took the road out of Monticello through the Abajo mountains, which was lovely. The Needles Overlook involves a 22-mile drive out to the lookout point. The trip is well worth it. The overlook is well maintained, there are picnic tables there for lunch. Awesome!
