“Great drive to a fun attraction”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

We enjoyed the drive along the cliffs to reach the museum. On the ride back, the sun was setting so we got an even better show. The hotel personnel are welcoming. The museum is free and on the smallish side. But the 30 minutes you'll spend there are fun. The hotel bar is a great spot to enjoy the river view. My next trip to Moab will include a stay at this gorgeous setting.

“Great stop!”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

This is worth a stop! We didn't stay at the Red Cliffs and we warmly welcomed to visit the free museum. It's downstairs from the main lobby. Took us only a half hour to walk thru and see all the different films (not just Westerns) like Thelma and Louise and Back to the Future that were filmed in the area.

Love the pic we got of my hubby standing next to the life-size cut out of John Wayne.

The drive to get here is gorgeous... it's worth it!

“Moab Film Museum at the Red Cliffs Lodge”
Reviewed August 25, 2011

In the basement of the beautiful Red Cliffs Lodge, this tiny film museum showcases posters, photos and artifacts from many movies filmed in this area. John Wayne figures prominently and more modern movies include: Back to the Future 2 and 3, Forest Gump, Thelma and Louise, Austin Powers and many more. I am not sure it would have been worth the trip had we not already been staying at the Lodge, but it kept us busy for about 20 minutes on a very hot afternoon.

“Worth the Stop”
Reviewed August 24, 2011

Left Moab to go to Denver along this route. Heard about this stop from a fellow camper! This museum is terrific. It is in the basement of the Red Cliffs Lodge. It has quite the collection of memorabilia from all of the events that used that region (Moab to Monument Valley) for films, commericals, advertisements, music videos, etc.. There are so many events that used this region as a backdrop, you would be surprised! My kids (who were gumbling as we walked in) really enjoyed it. Best of all, it was free and gave us a chance to stretch our legs!
