After seeing all the western sites all day, you need a hearty supper and some fun. The Bar M Chuckwagon is just the thing to end a great day. Just as in Hawaii you ought to do a Luaua once, while in the west you need to do a cowboy dinner and show for the same reason. The wait for dinner is fun. You can play horse shoes or try to rope a steer. We bought a saspirilla at the saloon. Next they start an extremely corny, but forgivable 'western shoot out.' They invite you in to eat your cowboy grub on a metal plate. The food is fine: chicken or beef, beans, apple sauce, baked potatoe , biscuit and apple sauce cake. Seconds are encouraged. We made friends with the guests across the picnic table from us and enjoyed conversation with dinner. Next the dinner show begins. You notice that the 'stars' are the same ones that served you your supper. What follows is a lively show full of the American music your great grandpa loved-- classic western cowboy music. We enjoyed the fellow who played the steel guitar. You just don't see those any more. The music is great and they get the audience to participate by twirling fake lassos, singing along or line dancing. Worth mentioning is the fact that there were just as many foreign vacationers as there were Americans. They were sampling a bit of the American west and the Bar M staff were great examples and hosts. Old folks, middle ages, and families with kids will have a great time.
