Arches and Canyonlands were places only a lucky few experienced. In 1952 Charles A. Steen, geologist and prospector, put Moab on the world map. The Sunset Grill specializes in hand-cut steaks, prime rib, seafood, and other traditional dishes.

“Good food, great views”

Menu is limited but they don't try to overdo anything. The decor is nothing to write home about, but at this restaurant you spend your time looking out the window, so the inside isn't as important. Good service.

“Go for the view, not the food”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

This restaurant is up on the hill above Moab. It has a wonderful view of the area. If you go for dinner make sure you get there before sunset to admire the view and see a gorgeous sunset over the mountain. We asked for a table with a view and had a remarkable view over the area. The service at Sunset Grill was great. Our server worked hard to remember our requests. We were cared for promptly, politely and carefully.

The issue with the restaurant is the food. It is fine - that is it. We did not finish the artichoke appetizer, simply was not that good. Salads were included but were nothing special. Dinner was good, food was adequately prepared, no real flair in the sauces, nothing special about anything. Not a place for foodies.

We had tookd a trip for Thanksgiving and had the Thanksgiving diner here. It was superb and the view was outstanding. The staff was first class even on a holiday.

“Moab First Nighter”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

For our first night in Moab, Utah, prior to touring Arches and Canyonlands National Parks we wanted a relaxing and picturesque location for dinner; we selected the Sunset Grill. This restaurant is in a historic home and provided us with a panoramic view of the area as well as a terrific setting to watch the sunset.
We were greeted by a friendly hostess and guided to a window view table where we were able to watch the setting sun.
Our server was informative and worked very hard to make sure our dining experience was what we expected. She returned many times to monitor our progress. First we relaxed with a bottle of wine and after a very leisurely period of time we ordered.
Escargot was our appetizer. The escargot was prepared in a puff pastry with and interesting sauce with mushrooms. A new preparation of escargot for us and we enjoyed it very much. My spouse and I both ordered the Idaho trout entrée. It was prepared well and we found it very tasty.
Great location and tasty food combined to make a good dining experience.

“Great Place!!”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

The Food was Fabulous!

Ordered the 2 Filet Mignon Dinners with Baked Potato, mixture of Broccoli, squash and carrots.
The price was not too bad 24.99 per meal.
Loaf of bread was brought to the table before the the meal
Also Included was a Dinner Salad
The Filet was cooked perfectly and had a wonderful flavor.

The Views were beautiful of the surrounding area.

The only negative thing was that the Biography of Charlie Steen(the Man who built the place as his home) written on the back of the menu was incorrect. It needs to be updated.
